MY THOUGHTS:  This is the first book I've read of this series and as usual I've not started with the first in the series.  But it was a very good book.  Lots of characters, mystery and the location is very descriptive.  Sergeant Hamish Macbeth is trying his best to solve the murder of a fellow police officer.  There are lots of clues and lots of people along the way to help you decide who murdered police officer Cyril Sessions.  And I'm telling you that you'll never in a million years figure out who it is until the very end.  I was totally shocked by who the killer was!  Very good book if your a mystery fan.

  1. Sherrie, I've read all the Hamish books and enjoyed them all. Quick easy and funny. You feel like you've been to Lochdubh and know all the residents. Slight crush on Hamish! STV did a TV series based on these books too and it was really good. If you ever get a chance to see it do. Its just titled Hamish MacBeth
