WHAT I LIKE TODAY....

I finished my Santa's House embroidery piece last night.  Now what to do with it.....maybe a pillow, wall hanging, mini quilt, or a center piece for a NEW quilt.  I haven't decided yet.

Today I'll be putting the border on my Christmas Sampler.  I've got the fabric cut, just have to sew it on.

I'll also be putting the border on my Dresden Quilt.  Just have to cut the fabric.   See that pretty blue spot at the top of the picture...that's what I'm using for the border.

If I get those 2 things done, I'm got a couple of quilt blocks I need to work on.  And a couple more embroidery items to work on.  So I've got enough to keep me busy for today.

EMBROIDERY PROJECTS.......

To-Do Tuesday, hosted over Texas Quilt Gal...is going to be one of my embroidery days.  And  I've got 3 embroidery projects I'm working on,  I would like to keep working on them.  I enjoy doing embroidery, but I tend to get side tracked.  I see a new to me quilt pattern and the little squirrel comes out to play.

So I've decided I need to pick a couple days a week and do just embroidery work.  I'll be doing my embroidery on Tuesday and Thursday.  Hopefully I'll get somewhere with this plan..You can find all these stitches I'm doing over at Pintangle.  Sharon has a Stitch Dictionary where you can find a tutorial on how to do these stitches.  Hop over and check it out.

SUNDAY STUFF TO STITCH........

I've got a lot of "stuff" to stitch for Slow Sunday Stitching today.  My day will be occupied with the Monthly Color Challenge, hosted by Patterns by Jen.  The color for March is PINK.  I got my Pink Birdhouse for the RSC Color Challenge.done.  For once I'm ahead of the game for the RSC  Color Challenge.

This is what my desk looks like while I'm trying to organize everything.

My February Color Challenge Block is done...the color is green.  March color is pink..it's pinned and ready to sew down.  That's it in the picture above...the bright pink jar on the right.

The pile of blocks you see above is for the National Day Calendar and RSC Color Challenge.  I'll be working on those today.

I'm starting a challenge for myself.  When my grand kids where small I took lots and lots of pictures..heck I used to take lots of pictures of EverYthiNG.  Now I hardly take any pictures.  So my challenge to myself is to take a new picture every day and post it here on my blog.  So keep an eye out for this....you may see something interesting, funny, serious, or just plain boring.  That's it for today.  Hope you all have a wonderful......

THURSDAY "STUFF" ON........

Friday....I intended to post this yesterday...but got side tracked.  So I'm posting it today, just a day late.   I have what seems like a gazillion projects going on.  But I'll just narrow it down so this blog post doesn't take forever to write.  I got my French Knot piece done for Wk. 11 of TAST.

I decided I'd do the Color Challenge being hosted over at Patterns by Jen, I'm really behind on this one,  but I have January done.  The color is orange.  I'm making 1/2 pint jars  the color for the month with the leaves of the spice.  January is Saffron, orange.  I need to get February and March done.

I like to have an embroidery project going....so I'm going to be working on the Pistil Stitch.  It's a lot like the French Knot.  But you only wrap the thread around the needle 2 times instead of 4 to 6.  Here's what I'll be working on....I'll be using DMC Red Pearl Cotton Number 8.  I finished all the pistil stitches last night, now onto the stems.  I'm using 6 strands of DMC # 470 cotton embroidery floss.

I also got my National Day block for February done...it's of course a Ground Hog.  You can get the list for the National Day Calendar HERE.

I've got the bugs pinned and ready to applique on the SAHRR.  There are butterflies, a ladybug, a bee and a sneaky snail dropped in to join the party.

Hope you all have an AweSOme.....

MONDAY MAKING.......

The bugs have arrived on my SAHRR.  butterflies, bees, and snails.  I've it all pinned down, just have to start sewing them all down.

I've also got all the hearts on the basket quilt.  They are ready to sew down.

And I'm still working on Wk 11 of TAST, which is the French Knot.  I've got a lot of French Knots to

make for this one.  Each one of those green lines has French Knots at the ends of them.  I'll be making some pink and some yellow.  You can find Wk 11 over at Pintangle.

This is what I'll be working on today.....now I just have to make up my mind and pick one to work on.

I'm joining...

I didn't get the border on the Dresden Plate.  I was rummaging around in my fabric to see what color to use for this quilt.  I decided to go with this one...the pretty blue at the top of the picture.  I just need to cut the strips and sew them on.

I've started reading What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon.

It's all about fining your heritage and love.   I've only got about 50 pages into the book, but I like it.

I was searching for recipes for Kidney Bean salad and found this one at the Bush's Beans site.  I think I'll give it a try....I'll let you know how it works out.

STITCHING TIME.....

Kathy over at Kathy's Quilts hosts Slow Sunday Stitching.  So today I'll be working on my SAHRR Quilt.  I've got one side to put Star Flowers on.  I've also got some goodies to put in my center block that will explain what this quilt is all about.  But that's for another day.  Here's where I'm at on this quilt...

Those are called Star Flowers.  Don't know anything about Star Flowers...neither did I...head over HERE to find out all about them.  I also have a lot of embroidery to do on this quilt.  All the fruits and veggies, the Star Flowers and the next row will need embroidery.  You might ask what is the next row.......well, you can't have a garden without insects...so that's the next row.  I'll be adding that one, once the stars are done.

Well, that's it for today.  Have an awesome.....

I TRIED.....BUT.....

I couldn't grasp the concept of putting my Red Work quilt on point.  I watched a gazillion videos, read lots of articles, and looked at many pictures.... but still didn't get it.  Math is not my strong suit.  I never measure my quilts ahead of time, I just start them and work through it.  But the Red Work was calling me, so I figured out a way to put this quilt together...just not on POINT.  So here it is..  And your know what....I like it! And to me,  that's enough.

I just have to put the outside borders on,,,,,the border is the same black fabric as the strips in the middle......and it will be done.  I'll be finishing this one tonight... you want to see it close up...just click on the picture.

SOME OF THIS AND SOME OF...

that....well, my To-Do Tuesday list is kind of good this week.  Last weeks list...

1.  Do more Fall Sampler blocks.👎

2.  Do more Christmas Sampler blocks.

3.  Work on SAHRR.

4.  Add a few more circles to October.👎

5. Put the label on Polar Bears.✔

6. Do Week 10 of TAST.

The Fall Sampler made it out of the tub and that's as far as it got.  I've started putting the Christmas Sampler together.  I'm going to make this for my bed, so it's going to need a few more blocks.

My SAHRR is moving along.  I'm ready to add the next row of flowers.

I got the label made for the Polar Bear quilt and sewed on the back.

And I got week 10 of TAST done.  The stitch this week is Chevron Stitch....this is not one of my favorite stitches.  I have trouble with puckering fabric and keeping my lines straight.  But that is what TAST is all about...learning the mistake and practice.  If you click on the picture you can see what I mean.  Puckered fabric and my Chevron stitch isn't even and straight.

And the Circles didn't even get a look at.  I totally forgot all about them.  I've got 22 of 31 done.  Then I have to put the happy faces on the gray circle...then I can start putting the top together.

My list for March 8th through March 14th.

 1. More Fall Sampler Blocks

2. SAHRR

3. Finish October Circles

4. Do Wk. 11 of TAST

5. Put a border around Dresden Plate.

Hope you all.....

CHRISTMAS PROGRESS....

Last night while watching T.V, I started putting the Christmas Sampler together.  I got 3 rows all sewed together.

I've only got one more row to add on.  But, I think I'm going to make more blocks and get this top big enough for my bed.  It's a Twin size....so it shouldn't take to long to get enough of them done.

While I was digging around in my fabric boxes the other day, I found some more Christmas fabric.  If all else fails, I'll some more on-line.  That's all I've got today.

IT'S TIME FOR FALL.....

not really, but I got my Fall Sampler out to see what it needs to move it along.  More blocks is what it needs.  This is what I have right now.  This will be my Slow Sunday Stitching  project.

So I'll be working on this today.  I'll also be finishing up my RSC 2022 Birdhouse, which is yellow/gold this month.  I combined the two to get this....I'll finish this one and move on to the Fall Sampler.

I may sew down a few more flowers on my SAHRR or do some of the embroidery on it.

Have a relaxing sewing....
