HAPPY BIRTHDAY....FUN....

to Bella and Luke.  They were 4 years old a couple weeks ago.    They of course had birthday cake, which they only eat the icing, not the cake.  lol
They got a Slip n' Slide for their birthday.  They haven't quite got the slide part yet, but they love running through the water.

NEEDLEWORK TUESDAY.....

Heather over at Books and Quilts is the host for Needlework Tuesday.  Got a project your working on or want to see what everyone else is working on?  Head over to Heather's place to check out all the info.
As for what I'm working on.....well, I have a ta-da.  Finally got my son's Bone Quilt done.  Turned out pretty nice.  I worked some of the fabric from Bella and Luke's Coloring Book Quilts into this quilt, so if you see a pink stripe and a polka dot bone, those are from their quilts.
I also put the final border on the Dresden Plate Quilt.  I'm happy with it.
Remember last week I said I was working on a quilt for my brother?  Well, if not, I'm making him and his wife a quilt.  They wanted a full size, but I can't get on the floor to pin them together anymore.  My knees and back won't let me, they complain a lot.  So the quilt's I work on are put on my cutting table and put together.  It won't accommodate a full size quilt.  So I'm making them a half quilt, well that's what I call them anyway.  Anyway, I'm rambling as usual, so on to the quilt.  I am using a cat and dog for their quilts.  I've gotten my brothers top done.
I'm now working on his wife's quilt.  It's the same pattern, but I'm going to use a different color plain block.  I also finally got to Joann Fabric's last week.  Got 10 yards of Muslin and picked up some marked down fabric.
That's is for now.  Don't forget to hop over to Heather's place.

NEEDLEWORK TUESDAY......

Yes, I'm a day late.  Didn't seem to find the time yesterday to post.  So am doing it today.  Heather over at Books and Quilts is the host for Needlework Tuesday.  Hop over and check out Heather's place.
As for what I'm working on, I've got several projects going as usual.  Not all have a picture to show, but I'll have some soon.  Hubby came home with a box full of yarn from a rummage sale.  So have started an afghan.  The yarn is sport weight yarn.
I finally made a trip to Joann Fabric's.  Got 10 yards of muslin, now I'm working on my Bone Quilt, it's for my son.  Finished the tying last night, on to the binding.  Haven't got a picture, but will be posting one soon as a Ta-Da.  This is the fabric I got at Joann's.  Isn't it pretty!  Can't wait to put some of this to use.

I've also been working on the Dog/Cat quilt I'm making my brother.  Just started putting it together.  But don't have a picture yet.  Maybe I'll have one by next week.  I think I also have enough muslin to put my Sunbonnet Sue Quilt together.  Have to check that out.  That's it for now.  Don't forget to hop over to Heather's place.

RIBBON......

I've been working on a Crazy Quilt.  I like Crazy Quilts, because there isn't a set pattern.  It's random shapes put together.  My Crazy Quilt is made up of 6 inch blocks and I've added another color block to break it up.  I used ribbon, lace, rick rack and buttons.  This is my stash of "stuff".  Plus a few blocks to show off the ribbons.
This is my Crazy Quilt top.

HOME.....

is where the heart is, I know it sounds dorky, but to me it is.  I'd rather be home then anywhere else.  I have everything I need here.  The twins to keep me company, my quilting and crocheting and if I want to travel I have lots of books to read so I can travel anywhere in the world.  This picture is the perfect example of my home.

Luke on the computer and eating a peanut butter & jelly sandwich.  Me working on a quilt.

MY THOUGHTS:
I love reading Beatrice Small's books.  They are written so well I feel like I've traveled to where ever the book takes place.  This one is set in Scotland, 1536.  Maggie can out shoot, out ride, out fight all the men in her village.  But her grandfather wants her to marry.  But Maggie has to agree on the man she is to marry.  Which is going to be hard, as no one can gain her respect.  Then the King sends someone to keep watch over this village.  Well, you know where this is going.  If you can't guess and you want to find out, read the book, it's a really good book!  This is book 2 of 4 for the reading challenge.

NEEDLEWORK TUESDAY.....

Heather over at Books and Quilts is the host for Needlework Tuesday.  Have a project you want to show off?  Or just want to look at some great needlework?  Head over to Heather's place to check it out.
I've been pretty busy the last couple weeks.  Been working on 3 of my quilts.  They are all in various stages.  I'll start with my Crazy Quilt.  It's coming along very nicely.  At this point I'm trying to decide what size to make it, a lap quilt or a bed quilt.  I've put a couple more rows on the side since this picture was taken, made it wider.
Next up is the Dresden Plate Quilt.  I've run out of muslin so can't do anything else until I get to Joann Fabric.  I've got 3 rows of it done so far, along with the first border.  What do you thing of the border color?  Let me know, ok.
Talked to my brother a couple weeks ago and he said he wanted a quilt.  So started him and his wife one.  Don't know where I got the idea, but they are getting cats and dogs for their quilt.  I've got several of the blocks done, but need some medium green for sashing.   Haven't gotten a picture taken of the blocks yet.  I was wondering where you get your inspiration for quilts?  Books, magazines, the internet or it just pops in your head.  Let me know.  I guess that's it for now, don't forget to head over to Heather's place.
