CHRISTMAS, BEARS AND A MESSY......

well, I think that title tells it all.  My National Day Calendar Quilt is in the hoop, but at this time it is a catch all for everything., I can't tie this quilt until I clean up the area.

The pile of Blue blocks you see on the right is my Polar Bears.  I've started putting them together and hopefully I'll have a filmsey by the end of today.  All the Polar Bear and Friends quilt was made with scraps...I did buy some blue for the blocks, The seal, snowman and walrus are on the new fabric.

I've decided to get my Christmas Sampler out and work on it.  I would like to have it finished by Christmas this year.  I still need a few more blocks before I can put it together.  Head over to  Cynthia's place to check out all the folks working with scraps.

So these are my Slow Sunday Stitching projects for today.  Head over to Kathy's place to check out what everyone is stitching on today. The same goes for my Christmas Sample, it is made with my scraps....but I'm getting low on Christmas fabric, I may have to buy some to finish the quilt.

Well, that's it for today....have an awesome sewing.....

I'VE BEEN TRYING......

for 3 days to post something, but life keeps getting in the way.  Doctors appointments, guests in the house, and just everyday chores.  So this post may be a little long.  And it's Tuesday, so this will also be my To-Do Tuesday post.

Last weeks list...

1. Tie and bind National Day Quilt👎

2.  Rip out 3 rows of gray yarn on Neon Stripe.

3.  Lay out Polar Bears to see where I'm at.✔

Sorry to say the National Day Quilt is still in the hoop waiting to be tied.  Same excuse as above.  As far as I know, this coming week should be clear of all the hold ups.

I ripped out the gray yarn on my Neon Stripe Afghan...and to my surprise, I found several boo boo's.   See the lower right corner...it isn't square..that was 1 of several boo boo's I fixed.  Now I can continue with the gray yarn and decide what color to add next.

I've laid out the Polar Bears,  I like this arrangement much better.  I still need a few more blocks and the stripes between the rows, then an outside border.  Hoping to have this all done by next Thursday, as that's my day to post about the Polar Bear Plunge Blog Hop.  Are you joining in on this?  Head over to Moose Stash Quilting to check out all the info.

And it's TAST, week 4 over at Sharon's place, Pintangle.  Head over and check out all the embroidery stitches she has in her Stitch Dictionary.  This week's stitch is the Stem Stitch.  I'm going to make a quilt of all the TAST stitches this year.  So I've doing a little embroidery along with quilting.  This is my Stem Stitch block.

I've also got my Center square for the SAHRR cut.  The block is 14 x 14 inches.  This week's addition is going to be curves...I'll have to think on this one and see what I can come up with.  The block looks white, but it's a very light brown with butterfly's.

Well, that's it for today.  Hope you all....

RSC 2022

 Hi everyone,

Hope your having a great day.  Mine has started out great.  My son hooked up my new printer, now I don't have to go clear into the dining room to get my printed papers.  The printer is right here next to me.  He also hooked up our new land line phone.  Our old one was doing some weird stuff, so it had to go.

I've got my first RSC 2022 Birdhouse done, this months color is red, which is hosted over at So Scrappy.  Hop over and check out all the redness going on.

I really like this...I'll enjoy picking out my colors for the rest of the year.   I was over at Mari's The Academic Quilter's place.  She is doing the SAHRR(Stay at Home Round Robin.  I think I would like working on this kind of quilt.  I've got my center piece picked out, just have to get the measurements down.  I'll be working on this today.

That's it for today.  I hope you all.......

OLD AND NEW QUILTS.....

I dug out my Fall Sampler from my project box.  I need to get back to this one.  I need to do some more embroidery blocks.

I also laid out the Polar Bears, I need a few more to complete it.

I've got a pretty good stack of String blocks...so need to start sewing them together.

And I need to add some more Granny Squares to my Pretty Blues Afghan

My son stopped at the second hand store the other day.  He got me a bunch of new books.  I've started the Women's Murder Club by James Patterson, which by the way, is my favorite author to read.  I've finished the first book, 1st to Die, and am about half way through the second one, 2nd Chance.  I've got 3 though 5, but there are several more in the series.  I'll probably go to the library to read the rest.

I've been watching 24 on Hulu....this is a really suspenseful show.  I usually work on a quilt or Afghan while watching t.v. in the evening.

That's it for today...head over and check out all the folks at these links....And have an awesome.....

2. Make more Polar Bears✔

3. Sandwich National Day Calendar Quilt.✔

That is a Big Yes..... all checks this week!

1. The Neon Stripe Afghan is growing, but I'm going to have to rip the 3 rows of dk. gray out...it's been a few years since I made large Granny Square Afghan.  I totally forgot I have to increase to keep the corners square.  As you can see this in the bottom right.

2.  I have a couple more Polar Bears done.

I like them both.

3.  I finally got the National Day Calendar Quilt in the hoop.  I'll start working on that tomorrow.

My To-Do Tuesday list for January 18th through January 24th

1. Tie and bind National Day Quilt

2.  Rip out 3 rows of gray yarn on Neon Stripe.

SOME OF THIS.....

is what I've been working on.  My Pretty Blues Afghan has a few more squares to add on.

I got a stack of them done, just have to sew them on.

I finished another Polar Bear last night.  I think he's cute!

I also got my first Birdhouse for RSC 2022 done.  The color or January is red.  This was made from my scraps.  Hop over to So Scrappy and check out all the scrapping sewing that everyone is doing.

That's about all I've got today.  I haven't been feeling very good the last few days....so the quilting and crocheting didn't get much done.  The National Day Calendar quilt will be sandwiched today!!

Have an awesome.......

PLANNING.......

does not always goes as planned.  I was going to sandwich the National Day Calendar quilt this week, but as usual I got sidetracked.  So it's at the top of my list of things to do today.  This is also my OMG project for January.

What I'm stitching on today for Slow Sunday Stitching is the Polar Bear blocks....they have been appliqued down and now I'm putting all the embroidery on them...

Are you doing the Polar Bear Plunge Blog Hop?  My day to post about mine is January 27th.  I've got 5 blocks finished.

I made a few more Tiny Tiles,  they go together pretty fast.  But it's going to take a lot of them!  These are for Scarp Happy.

I finally made up my mind for the RSC 2022, I'm doing bird houses.  This will be the first one, red of course.  I'll be cutting my fabric for this today.

Hope you all have an awesome....

TUESDAY TO-DO LIST IS A FLOP......

My Tuesday To-Do List from last week is a complete flop...nothing was done.

1.  Work on my Polar Bears.👎

2.  Make a few more flag blocks.👎

3.  Add a few more String blocks to my pile.👎

I haven't been in the quilting mood...but I have been crocheting a lot.  I started 2 new afghans with the yarn I got for Christmas.

This is what they call Ombre Yarn...it has several shades of blues.  And I have a light blue green that I'm mixing with it.

The other afghan I've started is what I'm calling Neon Stripes, which also happens to be the name of the yarn.

I wasn't too sure the orange yarn would work, but I like it...it shows off the Neon Stripe yarn.  All the yarn is by Red Heart....one of favorite yarns to use.

And the National Day Calendar quilt is still waiting to be sandwiched.

Every Tuesday Sharon, over at Pintangle gives you an embroidery stitch to learn.  I'm going to try to keep up and make a quilt.  This is this weeks stitch, Chain Stitch.

My To-Do list for next week...

1.  Work on Neon Stripes Afghans

2.  Sandwich National Day quilt.

3.  Do a couple more Polar Bear blocks

Have a great sewing day...

2021 QUILT FINISHES.....

I thought I'd share a few of my favorite quilts that I finished in 2021.  I finished 9 quilts last year.  I won't show them all, but I'll put a link to where you can see them.

One of my favorites is my Frogs quilt.  I really enjoyed pulling all this together.  It was a Squirrel project, it popped into my head one day...so I went with it.

Another one of my favorites is the Tile Quilt.  I worked on this for over a year.  Sewing pieces of scrap fabric onto a muslin background.

The next one is Salt and Sand...it was a blog hop, but I didn't participate.  But I liked the idea.

And I really like my RSC 2021 Baskets.  I enjoyed making these little baskets....a different one for each month.

And if you want to take a look at the other quilts I finished, here is the link...or can go to the top of my blog in the tabs section to see them...it is marked, 2021 Quilt Finishes.

Have a great quilting year!!!
