IT'S GUY THING BLOG HOP......

Today is my turn to post my It's A Guy Thing blog hop.  This is being hosted by Carol over at Just Let Me Quilt...go check it out.  Lots of beautiful quilts to see.

My idea started as a thought.  I had some Bow Tie blocks...they are about 3" in size.  I started putting them together and I didn't like the way they were coming out.  Besides I didn't have enough to make a quilt.

So back to the drawing board.  I was making some String blocks and I decided to go with that. I've laid them out on the "design floor".  I like this a lot.

Plus I have a pile of them done to add to this one.  Now I just need to start sewing them together.

Well that's it for me...head over and check everyone out that's participating in the blog hop...these folks are all posting today.

THURSDAY STUFF......

LeeAnna over at Not Afraid of Color hosts I Like Thursday.  So here we go...

I've got one more row on my RSC 2020 Crazy Quilt blocks.  Then I'll be ready to put the border around it.  Since I can't get the whole row in my Camera view...this is part of a row.

My day to post my It's a Guy Thing is coming up tomorrow.  Here is a sneak peak at what I'm working on.

I've also got several projects I'm working on.....well, way too many to list here.  So I'll just do a couple of them.  I need to catch up on my National Day Calendar Quilt.  I need May, June and July.  WOW!  I didn't realize I was that far behind.  You can see my April block HERE.

I also need to add a few more stitches to my Band Sampler.  And I really need to get my Salt and Sand filmsy sandwiched.  So that's it for today  Hope you all have a wonderful....

TO-DO TUESDAY.....

It's Tuesday again...where did the week go?  Head over to Chris's place, Chris Knits and check out what everyone is working on.

Last week's list...

1. Make a decision on how to put the RSC blocks together!✔

2.   Do some more embroidery on the Band Sampler.✔

3.  Make a few more Strip Blocks. 👎

July 27th  through August 3rd

1. I started putting the RSC blocks together.  I'm just putting them together in order of month.   January, February, March...well you get the idea.  I got 2 rows together...but my camera can't get the whole row.  I'm doing them 10 blocks in a row.  All the embroidery stitches I used on these blocks, I got from Sharon over at Pintangle.  She hosts and meme called Take A Stitch Tuesday.  She show you how to do a new stitch every week.  Sharon also has a Stitch Dictionary if you need help looking for stitches to work on.

2.  I put a few more stitches in the Band Sampler.

See that little car on the bottom left...that section is all about getting my Covid Virus Shot.  Since I'll never see another pandemic...and I wouldn't want to....I thought I would get it written down somewhere.  This seemed like the perfect place to put it.

3.  I didn't get any new Strip Blocks done.  A Squirrel

came in and distracted me.   I started a new quilt for a friend.  As if I needed something new to do!!

For next week...August 3rd through August 8th

1. Make more Strip Blocks.

2. Sew more RSC blocks together.

3.  Start working on Orange blocks.

4. Maybe sandwich Salt and Sand quilt?????

That's it for today...have an awesome stitching....

As for me, I've got 2 blocks to work on.  I totally forgot to make my July block for RSC 2021.  So I've got my little basket cut and pinned.

I also have coupe of hearts to do for Alexis quilt.  It is also pinned and ready to go.

I'm also putting my RSC 2020 together.  I've got 2 rows done.

I've also pulled my orange fabrics out.  What for you might ask?  It's for the Orange You Glad Blog Hop...are you playing along?  Now I just need to figure out what to do with all this ORANGE.!🌝

Well, that's it for today.  Hope you have an awesome Slow Stitching.....

LOTS TO DO....

and running out of time.  I've been working on my String Quilt, it's for my It's A Guy Thing Blog Hop...being hosted over at  Just Let Me Quilt....are you joining?  I'm making this for my bed.  I've got enough for 2 rows.  So I need to get to it.  There are 2 rows here, but I couldn't get all the picture on the camera.

I've also started putting my RSC 2020 blocks together.  I have 60 blocks...I'm doing 10 across...so I'll have 6 rows...that ought to make a pretty sized quilt.  There will be a black border around it.  This is part of the rows...couldn't get it all in the picture.

I've started Alexis's Quilt.  Ever start a quilt not knowing how it will come out??  This is one, I had a bunch of pieces cut out and picked a few of them.  So far I've got a Tea Pot, Tea Cup and some Circle Flowers.  I've got an idea bouncing around in my head....we'll  have to see where this goes.

I do all my quilting while I watch T.V. on my computer.  I subscribe to several streaming services...so I've always got something to watch.  At the moment I'm watching ER on Hulu.

I've started a new book for my book club.  The Little Paris Book Shop by Nina George.  I'm really enjoying this book.

And of course you have he GUARD DOGS on duty!😎

 1. Finish the Clams!✔

2. Put the border on Salt and Sand.😐

3.  Work on the Band Sampler,

4.  Start putting RSC 2020 blocks together.👎

1.  I got the Clams done.  You can see my post HERE.

2. I decided not to put a border on the Salt and Sand...I'll let the binding be the edging. 😅

3.  I did work on my Band Sampler this week.  I'm using this as a Journal....with some new stitches that I've gotten from Sharon over at Pintangle...she has a Stitch Dictionary and when I get stuck on what to do next I head over there.

 4.  I didn't get anything done with the RSC blocks...they are still sitting in my To-Do Box...waiting.  I haven't decided how I want this quilt to go together.  By month....by color, or just stagger them.  I have 5 of each color..so that makes 60 blocks.  Got any ideas!!

This weeks list.

1. Make a decision on how to put the RSC blocks together!

2.   Do some more embroidery on the Band Sampler.

3.  Make a few more Strip Blocks.

done!!!!  Finally got the last of the Clams done and the Fish Eyes put on.  I was going to add a another border, but I've decided it's fine the way it is.  So this is a Filmsy.  Later this week I'll be sandwiching it, along with the Indiana Leaves top.  And maybe the Under the Sea top.  Depends on how I feel.

I'll be working on my Strip Quilt this week...I'm making this for the It's a Guy Thing Blog Hop  I've got a pretty good stack of them right now.

2. Put the border on Salt and Sand.

STILL STITCHING.....

I'm still stitching on the Clams...I started with 21 Clams...I now have 10 left to do.  Then do something with the Fish eyes...Beads or Buttons...not sure yet.  The the last border goes on.  And I'll have a filmsy!

I've also had a request for a quilt...my son's girlfriend's daughter has asked for a quilt.  I had her write down what she likes and fabric colors.  I pulled some applique pieces that I have cut and this is what I've come up with....

It's an odd assortment of pieces.  And I've got some pretty light green fabric and some white.  So I've got all my components all planned out.  Just need to cut the green and white fabrics into 10 1/2" squares  and start sewing.

THIS AND THAT.....

I've started working on my It's A Guy Thing quilt.  I have a tub full of odds and ends blocks.  A while back I used to trade quilt blocks...we had to make so many and send them to a person on our list.  Wellll...I've got lots of those.  I did some out every once in a while and put them together.  This is what I'm going to make my It's A Guy Thing quilt from.  How appropriate for Guys...Bow Ties. ...I also have a stack of little 4 patches.  I'm going to add these to the Bow Tie blocks...and see what kind of design I can come up with.  Since I don't really have that many, this will probably turn into a wall hanging.  Any suggestions on how to arrange these blocks would be appropriated.

I'm also still working on the Salt and Sand quilt.  Putting the lines on 21 Clams is a lot of embroidery.  I'll get there, it will just take a little time.

I've been watching The Good Doctor on Hulu...waiting for the 5th season to come out.  This is when I work on my quilts...while watching t.v. in the evening.

My Book Club at the library is back on.  I missed the meeting...so I went to the library last week and picked up my Book Club book.  This month we are reading...The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George.

IT'S A FINISH!!!!

I finally got the Improv Quilt done.  I'm so glad I dug this little top out of the UFO box...I really like this quilt.  I didn't really want to cut more binding...I have lots of odds and ends of binding, so I like to use those up before cutting more.  This quilt fit the extra pieces of binding I had.

This quilt is also for OMG and PHD 2021

TO-DO TUESDAY AGAIN.....

To-Do Tuesday is hosted by Chris over at Chris Knits.  Hop over and check out what everyone's list is for this week.

June 29th through July 5th

1. Do more embroidery on the Clams.

2. Work on my, not sure what this is..click on the link and you'll find a brief history on this.  Band Sampler.👎

3.  Start sewing the RSC 2021 blocks together.👎

****************************************************

1. We have been having a heat wave the last couple of weeks.  High 80's -9o's...with very high humidity.  So working on a quilt is kind of hard to do.  The Salt and Sand quilt hasn't been sandwiched yet...so I've been working on the Clams.

2. The Band Sampler has been sorely neglected.  I really need to work on this!  This is as far as I've gotten.  I've got lots of ideas to do...just haven't done them.  Need some ideas on how to do a Band Sampler and stitches to use?  Head over to Sharon's place, Pintangle.  She has a post on her Band Sampler and she has a Stitch Dictionary for embroidery stitches.

3. I've got the RSC 2020 out of the UFO box and into the T0-Do Box.  Just haven't started putting them together yet.  This is a small pile of blocks...there are 6o of them don...just haven't laid them out yet...so they are still waiting their turn to be worked on.

July 6th through July 12th

My list for next week will be the same as last week...hoping I can get some progress on these 3 items.

1. Do more embroidery on the Clams.

2. Work on the Band Sampler.

3.  Start putting the RSC 2020 blocks together.

SOME PROGRESS......

I have been working on the Improv Quilt all week ...trying to get the binding done.  It's almost done, I should finish it tonight...if I don't get sidetracked.  This is my Slow Sunday Stitching project.  It will be finished tonight!!  This is also for OMG and PHD 2021.

I've also been putting a few more stitches into the Clams on my Salt and Sand Quilt.  It's a slow process!  All the components of this quilt was made with scraps.  The only new fabric added is the last border with the clams.  At the moment this is my Oh! Scraps project.

I got another row on my Band Sampler.    I really need to work on this more.  This is for my HSAL.

Hope you all have a safe and happy 4th of July....
