TO-DO TUESDAY......

It's Tuesday, so it's time for To-Do Tuesday, hosted by Chris over at Chris Knits.  Last weeks list...

 1.  Sandwich Salt and Sand....and Orange You Glad quilts👎

2.  Sew another RSC 2020 row on.👎

3.  Make a few more Strip Blocks👎

4.  Start a new embroidery project.👎

Well, this week wasn't very good for my list.   I got side tracked by a Squirrel.

I've been making Candy Hearts.  I've got 3 rows sewed together.  But I think I'll be adding another heart to the ends of the rows, which will give me  a wider quilt.

I didn't start a new embroidery project, but I was in the mood to embroider.  So pulled my Daisy embroidery out and worked on it for awhile.

I also pulled out my Band Sampler and did some work on it.

So my list for next week is totally different.  I've given up on sandwiching the Salt and Sand ...and the Orange quilts.  I'll get them done eventually.  But I've been in so much pain this past week from my Arthritis.  I can't hardly stand up.  We've been having hot humid and rainy days this past week, witch make my Arthritis act up.  So I've been working on things that requires sitting down.

August 31 though September 6th

1.  Do what I am able to do.  Weather permitting!

Hope you all.....

SUNDAY ALREADY!

Where did the week go?  I've been working on my "squirrel" project I started last week.  Did you eat Candy Hearts when you were a kid?  I did, one of my favorites.  I decided I'd make some.  So to the drawing board.  I have 3 yards of  a red check fabric.  So I got all my colors thought out and started making hearts.  I also went looking for the sayings on Candy Hearts.  Google is an awesome resource when looking for something.  I've got the first row done...yea.

So that's what I've been working on this week.  I got out my Band Sampler and did some stitching on it.

This is where I was last time I worked on it.  I wanted something else at the top with the year...so went looking for some inspiration yesterday.  So I headed over to Mary Corbet's place, Needle N' Thread.  She has a challenge going for the year.  You can read about it HERE.  Of course it's a Band Sampler Challenge.  So I've been working on mine off and on...mostly off...yesterday I wanted to put something at the top and Mary had a great idea for hers.

I put some swirls around the year using a Cable Chain Stitch.  I think it still needs something else.  Maybe some French Knots or Bullion Knots.  I'll have to think about this a while.  Plus I need to add June, July, and August info on here.  I'm kind of using this as a monthly journal of happenings here.  So I'll be working on this today as my Slow Sunday Stitching.  Which is hosted over at Kathy's place.  Head over and check out what everyone is working on.

I'm also linking up with Life in Pieces for 15 Minutes to Stitch.

Hope you have a great stitching....

TO-DO OR NOT......

Since this is Tuesday...I guess I need to post To-Do List list from last week...Head over to Chris's place to check out all the folks sharing their To-Do Lists.

August 17th through August 23rd.

1.  Sandwich Salt and Sand....and Orange You Glad quilts.👎

2.  Sew another RSC 2020 row on.👎

3.  Make a few more Strip Blocks.✔

4.  Start a new embroidery project.👎

Sorry to say I didn't get anything accomplished on any of my list.  I've had a new SQUIRREL come running through my sewing room.

I've been working on my Candy Hearts Quilt.  You can read my post about the Candy Hearts HERE.

I've got 7 hearts all appliqued down.  I've started embroidering the sayings on them.

The picture doesn't show the words very well...it says Be Mine.  I think I should have used black embroidery floss for the words.  This may require Mr. Seam Ripper to come out of hiding. 😸

So back to the drawing board

on my list from last week.

STITCHING AWAY.....

I've started a new quilt....as if I need a another new project!  I'm making Candy Hearts...you remember those little candy hearts in a box?  They were one of my favorite candies when I was a little girl.  Want to know more about candy hearts...CLICK HERE

So I'm making hearts.  I knew I wanted them similar to these colors.  So went digging around in my fabrics and pulled out some colors I liked.  But what fabric to put them on.  I recently purchased 3 yards of what I call red gingham.  Not sure if that's what it is, but I like it!

I've went on line and googled candy hearts...got some of the sayings on them. I'll be embroidering the sayings onto my hearts.  These are 8 1/2" blocks.  The rows will have a sashing between them...not sure what color...I'll have to think about that one.  I've got 2 of the hearts sewed down.

I've also been working on my String Blocks.  I've got enough to put 3 rows together.

That's it for today...I'm linking up with....

ORANGE......

I've been working on my Orange Quilt for a couple weeks.  It is finally a filmsy....

I've never made an orange quilt before.  So this one is special to me.  I really like how this came out.  Now I need to pull out the cutting table and get it sandwiched.  I will be sandwiching 2 quilts.  I've also got my Salt and Sand quilt finished, so it needs sandwiched too.

I really like the way this one came out.  I love all the different colors in this quilt.  It was all made from my scraps, The borders for the mussels, fish and clams got new fabric...a sand kind of fabric.  That's it for today.  Hope you all .....

WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING?????

It's Tuesday...so here's my list for To-Do Tuesday, hosted by Chris over at Chris Knits.  Hop over and check out what everyone else is working on.

I've missed a week, so am using my last post as my list.

August 3rd to August 9th

1. Make more Strip Blocks

2. Sew more RSC 2020 blocks together.

3. Start working on Orange You Glad Blocks.

4. Sandwich Salt and Sand Quilt. 👎

1. I got a few more Strip Quilt blocks done.  There will be 10 6 1/2" blocks in a row.  I've got Row 1 and 2 done and 7 1/2 done for row 3.

2.  I've got 2 rows done on the RSC 2020 Quilt together.  I had to quit because sewing through 4 layers of fabric and lots of other "stuff" is hard on the fingers....as I sew by hand.  Want to know where all the embroidery stitches came from?  Check out Sharon's Pintangle blog.  She has a stitch dictionary.

3.   I started working on my Orange You Glad Quilt.  Sorry to say I didn't make the deadline to join the Blog Hop, but I really wanted to have an Orange Quilt...so I started one.  I started making blocks and before I realized it, I had 3 rows done.  I will be adding one more row and then an outside border.  This is what I have now.

 4. Salt and Sand quilt is still waiting to be sandwiched.  I'll be finishing up the Orange quilt this week, So I'll sandwich both of them.

My list for August 17th through August 23rd..

1.  Sandwich Salt and Sand....and Orange You Glad quilts.

2.  Sew another RSC 2020 row on.

3.  Make a few more Strip Blocks.

4.  Start a new embroidery project.

Hope you all have a.....

JUST.....

 dropping in to say.....

Sunday, August 1, 2021

AUGUST ALREADY......

July just flew by...I didn't get a whole lot done in July..just a few things done.  I did get my Salt and Sand quilt top finished into a filmsy.  Which will be my OMG, PHD, WOOFA, OPAM projects this month.

The quilt top needs to be sandwiched, tied and binding added.

I am working on getting my RSC 2020 together.  It's a slow process...hand sewing through 4 layers of fabric with "stuff" in the way is hard on the fingers.  I've got 2 rows together.  There will be 10 blocks in each row with 6 rows making the quilt top.  I haven't got the room to lay it out....so this is a partial row.  If your wondering what the heck this is...it's a crazy quilt.  The blocks are 6 1/2".

As for today, I'm working on my RSC 2021 block, I'm making baskets this year.  This month the color is Aqua.

I'm also making a National Day Calendar Quilt.  Which I'm behind on making one block a month.  I've got Jan through April done...June is Pink Day....I've got a cute pink dress, it will need some embellishment before it's done.  But it's pinned and ready.

That's it for today...I'm linking up with....
