SNOW....REALLY!

Yesterday evening it started snowing.  And snowed into the wee hours of today.  We got about 4 or 5 inches of the white stuff.

While it was snowing last night, I worked on my Salt and Sand Quilt....added the last of the fish to the outside border.  The quilt is moving along at a slow pace, but I'll get there.

And I can't forget the A to Z Blogging Challenge....today's letter is R.....for...

Ruler

If your wondering about all the white space on some of my blocks....I will be embroidering ( the letter is for) .and the item on the block.

Q IS FOR......

Quilt...and this saying is so right.  When I feel out of sorts or have a bad day......

working on one of my quilts quiets my mind and lets me relax.

As for my To-Do Tuesday list....it's a bust.  All I got done was to finish the middle of the Table Runner and get the Teapot Quilt Sandwiched..  I've been working on the A to Z Quilt and my Salt and Sand Quilt.

1. Sandwich Teapot Quilt.

2. Cut Binding for Teapot Quilt.👎

3. Finish the Tile Quilt.👎

4. Work more on the Table Runner.

5. Put a few more rows on my Afghan. 👎

The center of the Table Runner is done, now to figure out what to do with the rest.  Maybe I can get an idea over at Sharon's place, Pintangle.

Since I've gotten caught up on the A to Z Quilt...I can get the Tile Quilt finished.  And maybe get it sandwiched this week.

My To-Do Tuesday list for April 20th through April 26th.

1. Tie the Teapot Quilt/cut binding.

2. Sandwich Tile Quilt

3. Put a few more rows on my Afghan.

4. Cut binding fabric for Teapot Quilt.

5. Cut binding fabric for Tile Quilt

STITCHING ON THIS AND THAT.......

I've got blocks caught up for the A to Z Blogging Challenge to the letter T.  Today's letter is

P...for Pumpkin

I've always considered pumpkins a veggie....but it's NOT.

A pumpkin, from a botanist's perspective, is a fruit because it's a product of the seed-bearing structure of flowering plants. Vegetables, on the other hand, are the edible portion of plants such as leaves, stems, roots, bulbs, flowers, and tubers.

Want to know more about the Pumpkin?  Wikipedia has all the info you want to find out.

I am working on a National Day Calendar Quilt.  April is Car Care Month.  So I of course made a Car block for my quilt.  I need to put a tail light on this car.  I'll be using a Bullion Knot for this.  Want to know how to make a Bullion Knot...hop over to Sharon's place, Pintangle.  She has a picture tutorial on how to do this stitch.

And yesterday's post was about my Table Runner.  I finished the center embroidery for this.  Now to figure out what to do with the rest of the space.  Any suggestions?????

STITCHING.....

I've been working on my A to Z project for the last couple of weeks...trying to keep up.  Today is a break from that.  So I'm hoping I can finish up the embroidery on my Table Runner.

I've only got a couple flowers, stems and leaves to do...then I can start adding the border.  I'll be adding a border of flowers around the outside edges.  Hopefully I can figure out the placement so that it all balances out.  That's what I'll be working on today.  What are you stitching this sunny Sunday?

O IS FOR.....

 Oval....

and no it isn't suppose to be an Easter Egg...lol.   But it could, if the letter was E.

What does oval mean?
An oval (from Latin ovum, "egg") is a closed curve in a plane which resembles the outline of an egg. The term is not very specific, but in some areas (projective geometry, technical drawing, etc.)

N IS FOR....

 Needle Threader...

A couple years ago I bought 100 Needle Threaders from Ebay.  I gave 3.00 for them.  I use needle threaders a lot when I'm working on a quilt....as I do a lot of hand sewing.  Even though I got new glasses this year, I still have trouble threading a needle.

I also use them to thread my needle while tying a quilt.   They break easy, so yarn doesn't work in them all the time.  Do you use a needle threader?

THIS AND THAT.....

Last night I ripped out the Tile Quilt and redid it.  Now it's all done, just needs some strips along the sides, top and bottom.  And it will be ready to sandwich.

Speaking of sandwich, I got the Teapot Quilt sandwiched.  It's waiting to be tied.

And of course I can't forget about the letter M, which is the letter today for the A to Z Blogging Challenge.  So M is for.....

BUSY AS A BEE.....

Yesterday morning I cut all the blocks for the rest of the A-Z Blogging Challenge.  Now I don't have to worry about that....just sew!  Speaking of A to Z....the letter today is....K for.....

As for my To-Do Tuesday list....it's a bust.  Didn't get anything done this week on my list.  I've been working on the A to Z Quilt and my Salt and Sand Quilt.  So I guess I'll try the same list for next week and see what happens.

STITCHING SUNDAY.....

It's raining today....so this is the perfect time to get some embroidery done.  I've got 2 embroidery projects going.  A Table Runner...this is the center of the runner.  It will have a border of flowers around the outside edge.

I've also been working on a Band Sampler...It's for an embroidery challenge I'm doing.  It's over at Needle and Thread with Mary Corbet.  I'm not the best at embroidery, but I figure doing this Band Sampler will the perfect thing to improve my embroidery.

And I have some embroidery to do on my Salt and Sand Quilt.

See the row with the black and gray shapes...those represent Mussels.  I need to embroider some lines on them.  I also need to put some embroidered eyes on the fish...I think I'll give them Bullion Knot eyes.  So what are you stitching today.  I'm linking to:

IT'S THURSDAY......

I've had company all week.  My niece, Zoey, has been visiting.  She's learning how to crochet.  And doing a really good job of it.

And her sister, Heather, popped in yesterday.

As for the A to Z Blogging Challenge.  I have a partial block done.  Zoey sidetracked me yesterday, so didn't get the block finished. I need to finish the right side and put his face on.

G....is for Ghost

My son bought a Clementis Vine this week...it already had some buds on it.  One of them opened up...

THE LETTER TODAY IS.....

F....is for frog.....oooops....I forgot to put his nose on.😉

We have Tree Frogs where I live.  To me, when I hear the Tree Frogs, spring is on it's way.  I got a picture of one sitting on a limb last year.  This is an Eastern Indiana Gray Tree Frog.  They have little suckers on their feet and can stick to anything.  I've seen them on windows here at home.

Wikipedia has lots of info on this frog.

A-Z AND TO-DO TUESDAY.......

 E is for.......

A little info on the Eggplant....from Wikipedia

Most commonly purple, the spongy, absorbent fruit is used in several cuisines. Typically used as a vegetable in cooking, it is a berry by botanical definition. As a member of the genus Solanum, it is related to the tomato, chili pepper, and potato, although they are new world and the eggplant, like nightshade, is old world. Like the tomato, its skin and seeds can be eaten, but, like the potato, it is usually eaten cooked. Eggplant is nutritionally low in macronutrient and micronutrient content, but the capability of the fruit to absorb oils and flavors into its flesh through cooking expands its use in the culinary arts.

It was originally domesticated from the wild nightshade species thorn or bitter apple, S. incanum, probably with two independent domestications: one in South Asia, and one in East Asia. In 2018, China and India combined accounted for 87% of the world production of eggplants.

I've always thought the eggplant was a vegetable...I was surprised to learn it is a fruit by botanical definition.  My mom made Fried Eggplant and it was delicious...I still like it today.

Fried Eggplant

2 tablespoons canola oil

1 large eggplant, peeled and sliced

3 eggs, beaten

Flour - after dipping eggplant in egg, coat with flour.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Dip eggplant slices in egg, then in flour, and place in hot oil. Fry 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

To-Do Tuesday

1.  Finish the Frog Quilt.✔

2. Sandwich Teapot Quilt👎

3. Cut Binding for Teapot Quilt👎

4. Finish the Tile Quilt👎

5. Work more on the Table Runner.👎

The only finish on my list from last week...is the Frog Quilt.

I've been working on my A-Z Quilt.  I did get a little bit of sewing on my Salt and Sand Quilt this week.  As for a To-Do list for next time.  I think I'll just wing it this week.

I'll also be working on the Teapot quilt, as it is my April OMG(one monthly goal) this month.  It needs to be sandwiched, tied and binding added.
