HI ALL.....

Hope you all had a great Christmas.  We got lots of presents, good food to eat...and visits with family.  I got some new foot ware.

I also got some new yarn...Red Heart Caron,  one of my favorites.  And I've already started a new Afghan with it.

I did get some sewing in....I got a couple more Christmas Sampler blocks done.  I laid it out on the design floor this morning to see what I've got done.  I'm going to need a few more blocks!

I also worked on my Tiny Tiles.  My pile is growing

2022 PLANNING.....

I have 3 quilt tops that are done, but have never put them together.  I made these years ago, they were some of the first quilts I made.  I would really like to get them done next year.  I seem to get things done when I join  up with other folks.  So I have decided to join the 2022 Joining Party, being hosted by Quilting Jet Girl.

The 3 quilts I'll be working on in 2022 are...

1. Indiana Leaf Quilt, needs sandwiched, tied and binding.

2. Under the Sea, needs sandwiched, tied and binding.  This is the first quilt I ever made!  It may be a little wonky and seams don't match...but I'm very proud of it!

3. Dresden Plate...the first one I ever made...needs sandwiched, tied, and binding.

I've cut and am ready to finish up the last of the blocks for my Christmas Sampler.  Then it will be putting it all together.

Here are a couple I've been working on.

Christmas Ornaments

Teddy Bear

That's it for this year....I'll be back January 1, 2022....have a safe and happy holiday!!!

I HAVE A FILMSEY......

I got the last block done and put my National Day Calendar quilt together.  I was going to sandwich it yesterday, but I wasn't feeling too good.  The weather affects me a lot.  And yesterday it was rainy and cold.  So I was hurting...the Calendar quilt did not get sandwiched.

Since this is Tuesday, I'll add my To-Do Tuesday list for next week.

1.  Work on my Polar Bears.

2.  Make a few more flag blocks.

3.  Add a few more String blocks to my pile.

I also worked on my Christmas Afghan from 2020.  I got the all the yarn, except for the orange, for Christmas last year.  I added several rows to it, I was here last time I posted about it...

This is where I am now...

And I want to wish you all a safe and happy holiday season.

I FINALLY DECIDED.......

on a color combo for Alexis's quilt.

I had originally wanted to use this green, but didn't have enough to go around the whole quilt.

So I went digging to see if I had enough of any one color to add to this...and I came up with this.

I've got my last 2 blocks pinned and ready to applique down for the National Day Calendar Quilt

November is National Cupcake Day,  I finished it last night.  Now on to the Llama.

December is National Llama Day, this one needs sewed down.

So, I have 2 quilt tops that are almost done.  I'll be working on the Llama tonight while watching t.v.  Then I'll start on Alexis's quilt.  These 2 quilts are what I'm working on for Wednesday Wait Loss...head over and see what everyone else is working on.

VIRTUAL COOKIE EXCHANGE......

Today is my day to post.  One of my favorite recipes at Christmas time is what my mother made when I was a child.  She called them Candied Cookies.    I've googled this and found many variations...but this is my mother's recipe....

1 Stick of Butter

2 C. of Sugar

1/2 C.  Milk

2Tbls. Cocoa

3 C. of Oats Meal

on med.. heat, place the butter, sugar, milk, and cocoa in a pan for 4 minutes..stirring occasionally..  Add the oatmeal to the mixture, mix well.    With a spoon, drop on wax paper and let cool until hard.

Sorry I don't have a picture, but I can assure you, they are delicious.

I've been wanting to make a Christmas Sampler Quilt...I started one last year.  I'm still working on it.  I got about 5 or 6 blocks done.  Here are a couple I've made.  You need a Christmas Tree,

and a present to put under the tree,

and a kind of witness to Santa coming...

Now head over and check out all the folks that posted today.

SUNDAY TO DO.....

I've got 1 quilt top that is ready to sandwich, one quilt is almost done, the final piece of binding is pinned, then to make the label.  I'll be finishing the Candy Hearts quilt tonight, while watching t.v.

If time doesn't get away from me, I'll sandwich the 2020 RSC Basket quilt and cut the binding.  This quilt is also made with scarps.  The baskets and the border.  The only new fabric is the muslin.  This is also my December OMG project.

I have another quilt that is almost ready to sandwich, it's Alexis's quilt, just need to figure out what to use for the outside border.

I don't have enough of any one fabric to use....so I either need to order some on line, use some of this or that fabri,  or make a trip to Hobby Lobby.  I don't really like ordering fabric on line, I've had a few bad experiences with this.  One was a muslin that is so thin you can see though it, it reminds me of Cheese Cloth.  The other is a muslin that is so thick you can't hardly sew through it.  So I guess I'll be making a trip to Hobby Lobby tomorrow.

I've also added a new row to my Band Sample....as you can see my line isn't straight.  I need to work on that...but isn't that what this is all about...learning new stitches and keeping everything straight.  His Band Sampler is my SAL project.

Well, that's it for today...have a wonderful stitching....

IT'S BEEN A WHILE.....

since I posted anything.  So I thought I'd make a PROGRESS  report.

The Candy Hearts is getting it's binding.  I cut the binding yesterday and started the binding last night.  I decided to go with yellow for the binding.  It's really yellow, but it looks like a yellowish green.

I also got a few more Flags done for Zoe's quilt.  You can about this HERE.

I've been adding more to my Tiny Tiles.  I've got a big bag of tiny scraps I've been using.  I hate throwing them away.

TO-DO TUESDAY AGAIN......

Boy, time seems to fly by.  And occasionally, I loose track of days.  But, hey, I don't work, well, unless you count doing dishes and laundry as work, which I do.  Last weekend I had a couple visitors...actually ,  I had  4 teenage girls here.  Boy, was that a loud weekend.  Thankfully we are back to our normal routine.

My To-Do List from last week....head over to Texas Quilt Gal's place to check out all the folks that are sharing their lists.

1. Tie and bind Candy Hearts..JUST DO IT!👎

2. Finish  putting Alexis's Quilt together.✔

3.  Start the Flag Quilt ✔

4. This is a maybe...work on Christmas Sampler.✔

I think I did pretty good this week.  Sadly, the Candy Hearts is still in the hoop.  I get sidetracked really easily.  And the squirrels come in to play...so I didn't get the Candy Hearts done.

Alexis's Quilt top is done, just need to put the border on....but I don't have enough of the fabric I was going to use...so I need to make a visit to Hobby Lobby.

I started the Flag Quilt...it's going to be a quilt for my niece, Zoe.  You can read all about that HERE.

This is the first flag block.

As for the Christmas Sampler...I finished 2 blocks...a Christmas Present....

and Rudolph...

My list for November 23rd to November 29th

1.  Tie and bind Candy Hearts

2.  Make a trip to Hobby Lobby

3.  Make a few more Flag blocks.

4. Make another Christmas Sampler block

Hope you all have a safe and .....

NEW AND OLD PROJECTS.........

I started a new quilt...😄 My niece, Zoe, asked me to make her a Lap Quilt, to keep her legs warm when she is on the bench waiting to preform. This is Zoe in full dress preforming at one of their shows. What is a Color Guard?  You can read all about it HERE

So I'm making her one...It will be made with flags and some other "stuff" to do with Color Guard.  I got one flag done...so I'll be working on this quilt today.

This is the whole Color Guard.

They recently went to State Finals,  there were 60 bands preforming at the state finals.  Zoe's group was in the B class, they won 4th place.

I also got my RSC2021 Baskets done, it's a filmsy.  If your wondering about the border, the baskets reminded me of a basket my grandmother used to gather eggs.  So I thought some "farm fabric" was appropriate .  All the baskets are made from my scrap bags.
