REVIEW - A VIRTUOUS WOMAN

"A Virtuous Woman" by Kaye Gibbons
Product Description(Amazon.com)
When Blinking Jack Stokes met Ruby Pitt Woodrow, she was 20 and he was 40. She was the daughter of Carolina gentry. He was a skinny tenant farmer who had never owned anything in his life. They didn't fall in love so much as they simply found each other and held on for dear life.
# Paperback: 176 pages
# Publisher: Vintage (November 5, 1997)
# Language: English
# ISBN-10: 0375703063
# ISBN-13: 978-0375703065

MY THOUGHTS: I like the way this book is written. Each person, Jack and Ruby, are telling the story. You get different views of each of their lives. How they meet, their life together, and Ruby's illness. You see Ruby has Cancer. So they are telling the story of her life. I would really recommend this book, it's really easy to read. I got hooked as soon as I started reading it. Couldn't put it down.

REVIEW - THE SUMMONING

"The Summoning" by Kelley Armstrong
Product Description(Amazon.com)
My name is Chloe Saunders and my life will never be the same again.
All I wanted was to make friends, meet boys, and keep on being ordinary. I don't even know what that means anymore. It all started on the day that I saw my first ghost—and the ghost saw me.
Now there are ghosts everywhere and they won't leave me alone. To top it all off, I somehow got myself locked up in Lyle House, a "special home" for troubled teens. Yet the home isn't what it seems. Don't tell anyone, but I think there might be more to my housemates than meets the eye. The question is, whose side are they on? It's up to me to figure out the dangerous secrets behind Lyle House . . . before its skeletons come back to haunt me.
# Reading level: Young Adult
# Paperback: 416 pages
# Publisher: HarperCollins; Reprint edition (March 31, 2009)
# Language: English
# ISBN-10: 0061450545
# ISBN-13: 978-0061450549

MY THOUGHTS: This is a new author for me. I read about this book at someone's blog and it sounded really good, so I put it on my TBR list. It is really a good book. It's also a series of books. The Awakening, The Reckoning, The Gathering are the ones in the series. The Gathering is due out in 2011. Chloe starts seeing strange things and freaks out in school. They sent her to a house for disturbed teens. But something isn't right. Chloe finds out about all the different kids there and their "special" powers. Then all hell breaks loose. Chloe, Rae, Derek, and Simmon are on the run. And do they get caught? Does Chloe find her "special" power and how to use it? You'll have to read the book to find out the answers to these questions.

THE MOMENTS IN BETWEEN PHOTO CHALLENGE

The two most important people in my life right now are my new and first grandbabies. I've waited years for them. I never really thought I'd have any grandchildren. Then these two came along, it's like a miracle. If your wondering why I keep saying they, it's because they are twins. They are now 4 months old and growing like weeds.

MY THOUGHTS: This is my book clubs pick for November. It has also been on my TBR list for ages. So when the chit chat at book club came around to this book, I jumped on it. I must say I was a little disappointed when I started reading the book. It's really slow and filled with so much info I got lost at first. Then finally it got going. What was confusing was all the info about Wennerstrom. But I really enjoyed the book. It is written with every detail that could possibly have to do with the story line plus more. Now I've got to read the other 2 books in this series. They will go on my TBR list. The Girl Who Played With Fire - Stieg Larsson and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest - Stieg Larsson

ONE DONE......ANOTHER STARTED

I finished my orange and brown Ripple Afghan. It's on the living room couch now.

I have gotten one of the Ripple Afghans out of the box that I started a couple years ago. I'm now working on it. It is a Candy Stripe Ripple Afghan.

I found this Ripple Afghan pattern at one of my favorite places. They have thousands of FREE patterns. It's Crochet Pattern Central. The pattern for the Ripple Afghan is there also. Just click on the links and you will go right there. I changed the size of the needle from a "G" to and "I". I like working with a large needle because my fingers don't hurt as much.

LOOK UP

Baby's are always looking up. So they are the perfect subject for this challenge. Bella is suppose to be taking a nap. But of course she isn't, she's looking up at everything in her view. Which at the time was me with the camera.

STRAIGHT OUT OF THE CAMERA

This picture is of Heather, she's the mother of our twin grandbabies. Heather doesn't like to have her picture taken. She usually makes funny faces when you take one of her. But this one I caught her napping with Luke on the couch.

TWO

I finally got some pretty good pictures of the twins together, kind of. It was really hard to get them to look at me so I could get their faces. They kept getting distracted by everything. But their little faces are so full of expression.
