HAPPY HOLIDAYS.......

 Just popped in to say hi....hope you all have been keeping busy.  I've been feeling under the weather the last week.  But I have been working on my Tile blocks.  

I want to wish you all a very safe and happy holiday season.

COOKING.....

 If anyone needs me....I'll be in the kitchen cooking...Turkey, Pumpkin Pie, Sweet Potatoes, Potatoe Salad, Baked Beans, Green Beans and Sweet Rolls, Mashed Potatoes and Chicken & Dumplings.

I saw this cool idea on facebook....I think I'll give it a try.

You start with 1.00 and the next week add 2.00 dollars and the next week add 3.00 dollars.  Just keep doubling every week.

BEAUTIFUL BIRD......

I was doing laundary the other day, happened to pas the back door and saw this outside.....

Isn't he beautiful!  I got so excited that I took a few more pictures.

If your wondering what he's doing.....he's eating the seeds off the Maple Trees.  You know those pesky things that come flying off the trees and get all over everything. 

IS SPRING HERE?????

Maybe, it was 39 degrees this morning.  Haven't been able to plant the tomato's, corn or grape vines for fear they will get frozen.  While I was our looking around the yard, I did spot some new growth on the Rose Bush I planted last year.  It's kind of spindly right now, but it's green.

Also the Paper Whites are up, full of blooms.

Some of the flowering trees are blooming and of course if nothing else is up and going, there's always the Dandelions.

SECRET STITCHING SWEETHEARTS BLOG HOP.....

While I was blog hopping a few weeks ago, I found Seredipitous Stitching.  She is holding a Valentine Blog Hop.  What is this about?  Here's some info.....

"In February we will have the Secret Stitching Sweetheart for Valentine's Day - send me a suitable picture and I will forward it to another participant, hop around the blogs to see who got your picture."

So I sent my picture to Jo and she sent it to someone else.  Now I need to do some blog hopping to find out who got my pictures.  This is the picture I got.....

Isn't that a cutie!!  Now I just have to wait until the person who sent this hops to my blog and lets me know with a comment.  I'm off to start hopping to find who got mine.

SUNDAY STITCHING.....

I've lost part of my embroidery hoop, the outside piece.  I've searched everywhere for it, but nothing has turned up. 

This is an 8" hoop, my preferred size.  Now I've had to go to a bigger size, which I don't like.  I can't get my fingers behind the piece to feel the work I'm doing.  Does that make sense?

This is a doodle I'm working on.  I'm not the best drawer in the world, so it kind of looks like a child's drawing.  I've also got a piece with squares, rectangle and circles, but haven't decided what to do with this one yet.

I've also been doing a lot of reading.  I've read 3 books since the 1st and am almost done with the 4th one.

I was over at Caffeinated Reviewer and she has a link to Rattled Dreams on how to start a blog.  Very interesting article.  When I started my blog, I had no idea what I was doing.  I just hopped in and started.  Over the years, I've fine tuned by blog to what I enjoy.  I don't blog for someone else, I do it for me.  If your just starting  to blog this is an article you should check out.

THANKSGIVING.......

Just wanted to wish everyone......

I LIE THURSDAY.......

well, maybe not this Thursday.  All the cars, vendors, and campers are in town for the Ducktail Run.  Last year there were 2427 cars registered, and 50,000 people came to this event.  All this in a tiny town of 2,000 folks.   So I hide out at home, not going out any more than necessary.

Now to what I do like.....

NOTHING DAY........

You ever have one of those days when

gets done......

The dishes and laundry are stacking up and about to topple off the counter and basket.  No Crocheting, Embroidery, or Quilting gets done.  Don't even get to read a book.  It's very frustrating when I have one of those days. 

It's like I lost a day out of my life.  Hopefully tomorrow will be.....

I'M IN A SLUMP.......

I'm so far behind on everything....books, quilts, embroidery and the creative challenge I've been working on.   I didn't get my circles done for August, my Guinnie Inspired quilt didn't get done and my embroidery is sadly lacking and stitches.  My creative side has taken a vacation, can't seem to get the juices going again.  Haven't been reading much either.  I've been reading the same book for over a week, which is a long time for me.  So I'm hoping September will be a better productive month.  Hope everyone has a wonderful LABOR DAY weekend!

TOTALLY USELESS SAL.....

What the heck is this?  Well, for people that stitch, it's the trimmings of fabric, thread ends, yarn ends and whatever else is left from stitching, quilts, embroidery, cross stitching, knitting, crocheting,  well you get the idea.  Daffycat is the host for the Totally Useless Stitch a long.  Once a month we share all our snips of leftovers.  As usual, I've forgot to do mine.  So I'm doing mine now.  This is a 3 month TUSAL.  May, June and July.....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME......

Today is my birthday.

I'm going to be working on a couple quilts and finishing a book.  I may make a trip to the library too.

KNICK KNACKS......

We all have them.  Scattered through our house or apartments.  They are little things we pickup to keep a souvenirs or collections.  According to Mirriam Webster Dictionary this is what a Knick Knack is......

 " a small object used for decoration"

I am guilty of this myself.  I have Knick Knacks all over my house.

DOODLES.......

Shelly over at Prairie Moon is hosting a challenge.  It's called the Creative Challenge. 

She will give us challenges to work on.  This week the challenge was Doodling.  What is doodling? 

The dictionary defines “doodling” as the act of drawing or scribbling idly, or to “scribble absentmindedly”.

I like to doodle, but I'm not very good at it.  But I worked on one this week.  This is my Doodle.
