Today is my day to post. One of my favorite recipes at Christmas time is what my mother made when I was a child. She called them Candied Cookies. I've googled this and found many variations...but this is my mother's recipe....
1 Stick of Butter
2 C. of Sugar
1/2 C. Milk
2Tbls. Cocoa
3 C. of Oats Meal
on med.. heat, place the butter, sugar, milk, and cocoa in a pan for 4 minutes..stirring occasionally.. Add the oatmeal to the mixture, mix well. With a spoon, drop on wax paper and let cool until hard.
Sorry I don't have a picture, but I can assure you, they are delicious.
I've been wanting to make a Christmas Sampler Quilt...I started one last year. I'm still working on it. I got about 5 or 6 blocks done. Here are a couple I've made. You need a Christmas Tree,
and a present to put under the tree,
and a kind of witness to Santa coming...

ReplyDeleteMy mom used to make a similar cookie. I haven’t made it for a long time. Thank for the reminder, we just called them “no bake chocolate cookies “. Whatever they are called, they are yummy!
