RSC 2022

 Hi everyone,

Hope your having a great day.  Mine has started out great.  My son hooked up my new printer, now I don't have to go clear into the dining room to get my printed papers.  The printer is right here next to me.  He also hooked up our new land line phone.  Our old one was doing some weird stuff, so it had to go.

I've got my first RSC 2022 Birdhouse done, this months color is red, which is hosted over at So Scrappy.  Hop over and check out all the redness going on.

I really like this...I'll enjoy picking out my colors for the rest of the year.   I was over at Mari's The Academic Quilter's place.  She is doing the SAHRR(Stay at Home Round Robin.  I think I would like working on this kind of quilt.  I've got my center piece picked out, just have to get the measurements down.  I'll be working on this today.

SOME OF THIS.....

 is what I've been working on.  My Pretty Blues Afghan has a few more squares to add on.

I got a stack of them done, just have to sew them on.

I finished another Polar Bear last night.  I think he's cute!

I also got my first Birdhouse for RSC 2022 done.  The color or January is red.  This was made from my scraps.  Hop over to So Scrappy and check out all the scrapping sewing that everyone is doing.

That's about all I've got today.  I haven't been feeling very good the last few days....so the quilting and crocheting didn't get much done.  The National Day Calendar quilt will be sandwiched today!!

SOME OF THIS AND SOME OF THAT.......

 Hi everyone, 

Hope you all are well...not me.  I've caught a cold.  The grands got it first, the first week of school.  Now it's spreading to the rest of us.  

What have I been working on....Alexis's quilt. .RSC 2021, and my National Day Calendar Block.  I've got 2 blocks done for Alexis's quilt.  A couple Jar blocks.

This jar is a little wonky, but it's ok with me.  I also got my green RSC basket block done.

And my National Day Calendar block done.  October 1st was International Coffee Day.  So I made a mug.

That's about it....haven't started tying the Candy Hearts, but it's in the hoop...hope to get to it this coming week, along with cutting the fabric for the binding.  Hope you all have an awesome sewing Saturday.

SCRAPPY STITCHING......

 I took a break on the Candy Hearts...I have the last row of hearts pinned, then the border goes on.  I'll finish it up tonight.

Over at So Scrappy, its time to show off  your scraps. So I worked on my RSC 2021 blocks.  I need a few more rows to finish this one.  

It looks done, but the side by the wall needs a few more rows. 

I also worked on my String blocks.  I have enough to start putting them together.  As soon as I get them  laid out on my design floor.  Since I've never done a String Quilt I'll have to play around with this one for awhile.  Any suggestions on how to lay it out?  Happy to get suggestions, and thanks for any you give, it's really appreciated.

WHAT'S COULD BE MORE......

 scrappy than crazy quilt blocks....well, I've been working on my RSC 2020 blocks.  I put it on my bed yesterday to figure out how many more I need..  I need about 4 more rows.  Want to know more about RSC...head over So Scrappy and check it out.

With the help of Linda over at Texas Quilt Gal I got the November and December colors, so I've been working on those...I've 5 Green ones done and started on the Orange yesterday.

1 IN THE HOOP......

 I finally got Sunbonnet Sue and Overall Sam sandwiched.  Sunbonnet Sue is in the hoop, ready to be tied.   I ran out of batting. I could have got a couple more filmsys together.  I either have to send a friend to Hobby Lobby or order the batting on line.  As slow as the deliveries have been by mail, I most likely will send a friend to Hobby Lobby.  

 

I have been working on a couple other things.  I got my yellow basket done for RSC 2021.

And February is American Heart Month....so I made a heart block for My National Calendar Quilt.

I am still working on the Tile Quilt.  I've got almost all of them done.  Just need a few more blocks and I can start putting it together.  What are you working on this weekend?  Click on the links to do a little blog hopping.

PINK SATURDAY.....

 Is anyone doing the Rainbow Challenge?  You can find out more about this over a So Scrappy....I'm sure a lot of folks are.  I'm doing this one too.  The month of January color is Pink...Last years challenge was way too much for me.  So I'm doing one block a month.  I might get this one done on time and finished.  This is my pink basket.  

Just waiting for February to roll around so I can do the next basket.  

What I'll be doing today....Cutting stripes for my Tile Blocks...want to get this done, so I can make some more Tile blocks.  I really hat having to do away with all those tiny scraps you can't use anywhere.  Hope you all have a great scrappy....

 I've been working on my RSC 2020 blocks.  I'm making Crazy Quilt blocks for this...I've got most of them embellished...but still have a few more to catch up on from the beginning of the year.

Right now I'm working on the October blocks...the color for October is yellow...

Block 1.....this one is done.

Block 2 ....this one is done.

Block 3,,,,I'm going to add a few flowers and buttons to this one.

Block 4 ...haven't started this one yet.

Block 5...this one is done.

So that makes 1 to finish and 1 to statrt....

PURPLE AND BLUE......

 Over at So Scrappy it is show off your Purple for the RSC 2020 challenge....I got all my purple crazy quilt blocks done and embellished.

Today I'm going to work on the Valentine Quilt....needs to be tied...still haven't decided on the color for the binding.  If I have enough red fabric...that might be the binding.

NEW MONTH....NEW GOALS....

Hi everyone,
welcome August....what's on hand for August here at Food for Thought....first up is to finish Zoe's quilt...this is a birthday gift and Zoe's birthday is August 21...I have 20 days to finish this...so no more messing around!

Plus I need to get this done so I can put the Valentine Quilt in the hoop....this is my OMG for August.

Since the Valentine quilt is small, I might get another small quilt done....the Boo Quilt.

These are a tad smaller than a lap quilt...if I get them in he hoop and tied, it won't take long to finish them up.  So we'll see how the month of August goes...hopefully we won't have a lot of hot humid days!  But, it's Indiana and it is usually hot in August, keeping my fingers crossed for some cooler weather....
I pulled all my purples out for RSC 2020 going on at So Scrappy...5 more crazy quilt blocks to make.
