PLAYING CATCH UP........

I've been working on several things.....trying to catch up on my monthly challenges..  I got my Color Challenge for August done.  The color is purple, but it looks like burgundy...it's a deep purple.

I also got my for RSC 2022.. August Birdhouse..

And the Red Work quilt is still in the hoop.  Every time I walk past it, I put a stitch in.  This is my August UFO.  So I better get busy and get it done.

I've also got the last of the trees done for my See Ya Later Alligator all pinned, and ready to sew and got the white strip pinned.

This is what I'll be working on today.  And finishing up my Down on the Farm embroidery piece so I can start the next one...which will be a nesting hen.   There is a small area to the left that needs to finished up.

Well, I've got a lot of sewing to do, so better get to it.  Hope you all have a wonderful....

REALLY SLOW......

stitching.   I've been working on my TAST stitches, but it's been really slow working on these.  I've almost got wk. 25 done...it's the Fern Stitch.   I seems to take forever to get the block done.  But I'm almost done with this one.  Just need to finish the border and words.

I got my August Color Challenge block done.

I also got my RSC Rainbow Challenge done...it's Orange for August.

That's about all I got done this.....Oh! I almost forgot...I got a few more Granny Squares done.  I've also started sewing them together.  Hope you all have a wonderful....

TRYING TO FINISH......

Since it's Sunday,  I thought I'd work on Zoe's quilt before she goes home on Friday.  The flags are all done. Had Zoe pick what she wanted for a border...she picked this Gingham Green.  I'm adding the border now, 3 more to go.  She also picked black as her binding.  This is my Slow Stitching Sunday , and my Oh! Scrap project.

The new color for RSC, July, is purple.  So went digging, but I'm really short on the purple...this is all I could gather.

I'm pretty sure I can get a Birdhouse out of this.  I'll have to start gathering  all my patterns, scissors and threads together and get busy.  This is the pattern I'm using for the birdhouse, minus the bird.

When I get tired of working on blocks, I'll dig into Book 4 of Dirary of Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney.  I'm really enjoying reading this series with my grand daughter.

I've been watching New Amsterdam.  I didn't know it was based on a book, so I had to go and track it down.  I found it on Amazon.  The book is Twelve Patients by Eric Manheimer, MD .  I've just started it.  It's very interesting reading.

Well, if I'm going to get Zoe's quilt finished, I better get off the computer and start sewing.  Hope all  of you have a wonderful stitching.....

FINALLY A COOL OFF.....

came...it only lasted a couple days.  It's back to hot again.  So I took advantage of the cool down and did some crocheting.  I am doing the Crochet Along over at Jolly Jabber.  They have one for yarn, quilting and Cross Stitch, interested, just click on the link above and see...you might join in too.   I've got quite a few Granny Squares stacked up.

These are going to ripped out and used in the bunch of granny squares I'm making.

I also got  my Blue Birdhouse made for RSC 2022 Color Challenge.  It reminded me of the big Blue Spruce tree in our front yard.  There are always birds sitting on the limbs.

I laid out Zoe's Flags today.  This is going to be a lap quilt...for Zoe to use at her practice meets.  Her legs get cold!

What I'll be working on today is the SHARR...it's almost a filmsy.  This quilt top is made with all scraps..so I think it qualifies for Oh! Scraps.  Just needs a little more embroidery and a border.

Hope you all have an awesome.....

SUNDAY STITCHING.....

I'm currently trying to get my SAHRR to filmsy stage.  I have to finish up the embroidery of the butterflies, give the farmer a face and put the names on the Garden Signs.  And I also need to decide on border color.  I'll have to think about this one for awhile.

I've also go my Blue Birdhouse for RSC 2022 all pinned down.  I'm going to change the pole to a brown, the blue doesn't work for me.  The same applies to the perch piece.

These 2 items are what I'll be working on today for my Slow Sunday Stitching.....I'll do the blue birdhouse first and then move on to the SAHRR.

If I get tired of these 2, I've always got my Tiny Tiles as a back-up.

Have an awesome stitching....

ALL PINNED AND READY........

to go.  I've got the fabric cut and pinned to the block....now just need to sew them down.  Over at Scrap Happy today it's all about Blue.  This looks like a tree, but it's a triangle birdhouse....  this is my birdhouse for my RSC 2022 Challenge.

I've also got Mustard, it's the mustard leaf.  Hope over HERE to see some interesting facts about mustard.  The color of the jar is the mustard color, which I'm using for the Color Challenge.

I also pinned my Pink Sewing Machine for my National Day Calendar Challenge.  As I sew this down, I'm going to sew a pin into it for the needle.  Well, we'll see if this works????

A few months ago I decided to make my own challenge.  To post a new picture everyday.  I've kind of kept up with, but I've also been lax in posting.  So this is my picture for my own picture challenge.  I'll leave your a snap shot of my roses.  Not sure of the name, but they are beautiful and smell so good.  I planted this rose bush about 5 years ago.  I've babied it, and now it's in full bloom!  It also looks good growing up the trellis my dad made me a few years ago!

Hope you all have a.....

PROGRESS IS A GOOD THING....

I've been working on my monthly challenges.  I have three that I do...so when a new month comes I try to get those blocks done.  I'm doing the National Day Calendar again this year.  May 2nd is National Tuna Day.

The color for the RSC Rainbow Challenge, the color for May is Sage/Forest Green.  I'm making birdhouses for this.  So I'll be pulling green fabrics today for that.  This is the birdhouse I'll be working on.

And the Color Challenge, I'm doing Mason Jars, the little half pint ones.  I'm making spices that go into these jars.  The spice this month is Basil.  For this challenge I'm making the jars the color and adding the spice leaf to it.

I got a few more of the Hand Picked blocks done...now I need to start cutting 9 patches.

You ever bag or box up scraps for a project??  I found this one in a box and for the life of me, I can't remember what it was for.  But I'll figure it out eventually!😉

I've been trying to read at least 50 pages in a book every day.  The book I'm currently reading is What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon.  It's getting interesting now, so hopefully it will hold my attention. Do you read?  What are you reading now?

Synopsis......

{Anne Gallagher grew up enchanted by her grandfather’s stories of Ireland. Heartbroken at his death, she travels to his childhood home to spread his ashes. There, overcome with memories of the man she adored and consumed by a history she never knew, she is pulled into another time.

The Ireland of 1921, teetering on the edge of war, is a dangerous place in which to awaken. But there Anne finds herself, hurt, disoriented, and under the care of Dr. Thomas Smith, guardian to a young boy who is oddly familiar. Mistaken for the boy’s long-missing mother, Anne adopts her identity, convinced the woman’s disappearance is connected to her own.

As tensions rise, Thomas joins the struggle for Ireland’s independence and Anne is drawn into the conflict beside him. Caught between history and her heart, she must decide whether she’s willing to let go of the life she knew for a love she never thought she’d find. But in the end, is the choice actually hers to make?}

SUNDAY STUFF TO STITCH........

I've got a lot of "stuff" to stitch for Slow Sunday Stitching today.  My day will be occupied with the Monthly Color Challenge, hosted by Patterns by Jen.  The color for March is PINK.  I got my Pink Birdhouse for the RSC Color Challenge.done.  For once I'm ahead of the game for the RSC  Color Challenge.

This is what my desk looks like while I'm trying to organize everything.

My February Color Challenge Block is done...the color is green.  March color is pink..it's pinned and ready to sew down.  That's it in the picture above...the bright pink jar on the right.

The pile of blocks you see above is for the National Day Calendar and RSC Color Challenge.  I'll be working on those today.

I'm starting a challenge for myself.  When my grand kids where small I took lots and lots of pictures..heck I used to take lots of pictures of EverYthiNG.  Now I hardly take any pictures.  So my challenge to myself is to take a new picture every day and post it here on my blog.  So keep an eye out for this....you may see something interesting, funny, serious, or just plain boring.  That's it for today.  Hope you all have a wonderful......

WORKING ON......

my SAHRR....I got the next row of flowers pinned down last night.

I totally forgot about my next birdhouse for RSC 2022...I picked out some fabric to us for this one.  Yellow of course....and while I was digging around in my scrap bags last night for the flowers...I found my piece of Gold fabric.  You can see a gold flower on the SAHRR.

I'll be using the Gold fabric for the hole in the birdhouse.  Now I have to decide  which flower print to use for the roof.  I'm leaning on the yellow flower print, this is a piece of fabric I cut up...it was my grand daughters P. J. bottoms when she about 2 years old.  I think the sunflower would over power the birdhouse, so that one is out.  I'll I be working on this tonight.
