QUILTY STUFF.........

As I've been feeling really crappy this week, there hasn't been too much quilting going on here. I have a To-Do Box of projects I"m working on.....so when the mood strikes me I can pull something out and start working on it.

But I did start putting my pink and purple baskets together.  I've got 2 rows done.  These were done with some scrap Pink and Purple I had.  I'm hoping I have enough to make a small quilt.

And I put a few stitches in my Hand Picked block for my Hand Picked Quilt.  This quilt is a lot of scraps I have of odds and ends fabrics.  With a few new colors I've added.  And there are some orange ones I can use for my Rainbow Scrap I'm working on.

Do any of you, keep a Quilt Diary or calendar!  I have both...my calendar I use to write what I've worked on for that day.  This is July's calendar.  As you can see each day is full.  I've also left empty squares for notes about anything to do with what I'm working on.

I've also got a  list of fabrics I need to pull and a list of blocks I need to make.  So I guess I better get busy and start cutting fabric.  Have a wonderful...

1st TUESDAY OF AUGUST......

Hello August and everyone.....I hope your have a wonderful day.  Yesterday I spent the day cutting squares to sew my "stuff" on.  As for today....it's time to post my To-Do Tuesday list from last week.

1.  Tye Red Work Quilt

2. More Pink and Purple Baskets

3. Work on Hand Picked.

The Red Work Quilt is still in the hoop waiting to be tied.  I worked on other "stuff" this week.

I also got some Pink and Purple baskets done.  And I cut and pinned my center for my basket quilt  It's going to have flowers in it....I'm going to try something new for this...make some crocheted flowers along with fabric.  I may even slip in a fake flower.

And I got more blocks cut for my Hand Picked Quilt.  Now all I need to do is get my light box out and trace the patterns on them.

This is the pattern I need to trace onto the squares.  These are only 4 1/2" squares

As for what I'm planning on doing this coming week...basically the same thing that is listed above.

To- Do Tuesday August 2nd through August 8th....

1. Work on Hand Picked blocks

2. Start putting the Pink and Purple baskets together.

TO-DO TUESDAY TIME.......

My To-Do Tuesday from last week....

1. Finish binding and label Zoe's Quilt.✔

2. Mare more Pink and Purple Baskets.✔

3.  Finish Wk 25  of  TAST and start Wk 27.👎

2 out of 3 isn't bad, for me anyway.   I've been consumed with finishing Zoe's Flag Quilt this week.  It's finally finished.  I put the label on last night and now it's in the washer.  This is also for my UFO Blog Hop.

I did manage to get a couple more pink baskets pinned and ready to sew.  I'll be cutting out the purple ones today.  Plus I have to cut some more 8 1/2' muslin blocks.

Next project is to get the Red Work Baskets tied.  I put it in the hoop last week....well all I can say...it's still there.  I'll be working on the tying this week.  Then I have to decide what color to use for the binding.  I'm thinking about a Light Gray or Red.  I'll have to see if I have enough of those 2 colors to make binding.

My Hand Picked quilt has been sorley neglectd.  So it's going on this list this week.

My list for  July 26th through  August 2nd

1.  Tye Red Work Quilt

2. More Pink and Purple Baskets

3. Work on Hand Picked.

Have a wonderful.....

TO-DO LIST......

 My To-Do List last week....

1.  Do the TAST stitch for Wks. 16, Coral Stitch and 17,  Bullion Knot.👎

2. Work some more on SAHRR.✔

3. Finish putting Quilty 365 together. 👎

4.  Do some more embroidery on my new project. (I'll have pictures next week.✔

I didn't get my TAST stitches done. You can see the TAST stitches over at Pintangle.  Sharon has a new stitch every Tuesday.  Now I've got 3 to catch up on.

I've got all the bugs sewed down on SAHRR...just have to finish up the embroidery.  Then on to the middle block.  I know there will be a farmer and some seeds...I'll have to see what else will be there.

I didn't get Quilty 365 done.  I've had to do some adjustments to this.  I started this project in 2016, when i first started quilting...long before I knew about 1/4" seam allowances.  So there are some puckers and other boos boos along the way.  But I'm making progress, I got October, November and December done.  And I started adding the pink strip between them.

My new project is called Hand Picked...it's in Issue 176 of American Patchwork & Quilting, page 84.

I got 3 blocks embroidered.  I'm not going to fast on this one.

I was going to use these orange squares, but I'm really NOT  liking the way they look with the other blocks.  I really want to use light colors for them.  So I'll have to search my fabric for some light colors.

Now for my list for next week...

1.  Start working on center block of SAHRR.

2. Put the last row on Quilty 365

3. Embroider more blocks for Hand Picked.

4. Catch up on my monthly challenges. RSC 2022, Color Challenge and National Day Calendar.  Hopefully I'll have some new blocks to show you next week.  Hope you all have great stitching.....

PROGRESS IS A GOOD THING....

I've been working on my monthly challenges.  I have three that I do...so when a new month comes I try to get those blocks done.  I'm doing the National Day Calendar again this year.  May 2nd is National Tuna Day.

The color for the RSC Rainbow Challenge, the color for May is Sage/Forest Green.  I'm making birdhouses for this.  So I'll be pulling green fabrics today for that.  This is the birdhouse I'll be working on.

And the Color Challenge, I'm doing Mason Jars, the little half pint ones.  I'm making spices that go into these jars.  The spice this month is Basil.  For this challenge I'm making the jars the color and adding the spice leaf to it.

I got a few more of the Hand Picked blocks done...now I need to start cutting 9 patches.

You ever bag or box up scraps for a project??  I found this one in a box and for the life of me, I can't remember what it was for.  But I'll figure it out eventually!😉

I've been trying to read at least 50 pages in a book every day.  The book I'm currently reading is What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon.  It's getting interesting now, so hopefully it will hold my attention. Do you read?  What are you reading now?

Synopsis......

{Anne Gallagher grew up enchanted by her grandfather’s stories of Ireland. Heartbroken at his death, she travels to his childhood home to spread his ashes. There, overcome with memories of the man she adored and consumed by a history she never knew, she is pulled into another time.

The Ireland of 1921, teetering on the edge of war, is a dangerous place in which to awaken. But there Anne finds herself, hurt, disoriented, and under the care of Dr. Thomas Smith, guardian to a young boy who is oddly familiar. Mistaken for the boy’s long-missing mother, Anne adopts her identity, convinced the woman’s disappearance is connected to her own.

As tensions rise, Thomas joins the struggle for Ireland’s independence and Anne is drawn into the conflict beside him. Caught between history and her heart, she must decide whether she’s willing to let go of the life she knew for a love she never thought she’d find. But in the end, is the choice actually hers to make?}

STILL WORKING ON........

SAHRR quilt top...still sewing down bugs.  This time I'm doing the embroidery work when I finish a bug.  Last time I made a quilt like this, I didn't do that and took forever to do all the embroidery work.  I've got 2 sides done...2 more to go.

Today I'll be adding the border to my Christmas Sampler.  Laid it out on the design floor and put the border fabric around it, to see if I liked it....and I do!  Don't worry, I cut an extra strip for the shot pieces.  When it's done it will go into my box of quilt tops to sandwich.    This is #6 that needs sandwiched, tied and binding.  If I ever make it to Hobby Lobby!

I got my new issue of American Patchwork Quilts last week.  I've been going through it over and over.  There are 2 quilts I want to make, yea, I know, a new project, as if I don't have enough already....but they are really cute.

There are 2 that I want to start NOW!   A basket quilt and a Nine Patch with embroidery...I really like this one the best.  Sorry about the spot.  It's my camera flash.

The other one I want to make is a basket quilt.  I love the different colors in this one.

Well, that's it for now....I'm linking up with....
