ALL PINNED AND READY........

to go.  I've got the fabric cut and pinned to the block....now just need to sew them down.  Over at Scrap Happy today it's all about Blue.  This looks like a tree, but it's a triangle birdhouse....  this is my birdhouse for my RSC 2022 Challenge.

I've also got Mustard, it's the mustard leaf.  Hope over HERE to see some interesting facts about mustard.  The color of the jar is the mustard color, which I'm using for the Color Challenge.

I also pinned my Pink Sewing Machine for my National Day Calendar Challenge.  As I sew this down, I'm going to sew a pin into it for the needle.  Well, we'll see if this works????

A few months ago I decided to make my own challenge.  To post a new picture everyday.  I've kind of kept up with, but I've also been lax in posting.  So this is my picture for my own picture challenge.  I'll leave your a snap shot of my roses.  Not sure of the name, but they are beautiful and smell so good.  I planted this rose bush about 5 years ago.  I've babied it, and now it's in full bloom!  It also looks good growing up the trellis my dad made me a few years ago!

Hope you all have a.....

SCRAPPY DAY....

I've been working on my Red Work blocks...I have 8 61/2" squares...I was puzzled as what to do with them....8 blocks don't make a very big quilt.  So I put different colored borders around each block.  Now what to do with them is the next question.  I know I want to add a colored block between them...haven't decided what color to use...any suggestions....maybe a light yellow or orange....ummm...I'll have to lay it out and see what happens....

The new color for RSC is out...it's going to be
Purple...I'll have to drag out my Purple and make a basket.

So what have you been doing with scraps??  Lots of goodies

I hope...I'm linking up with:

UPDAT: OLD AND NEW PROJECTS......

Well, I had a squirrel snick into my projects....

I got an e-mail from Needle & Thread...Mary Corbet is doing a series on small embroidery projects.  I decided to do the Daisy.  I'm still on Part 1...but making progress.  I've added a Gadget on my side bar with links to the Daisy, also a link to the other little projects Mary is sharing, if you want to try them.

It's also time for a report on my Band Sampler....This is a challenge over at Needle & Thread.  The idea is to stitch something everyday and to only use the threads you already have...NO NEW THREADS.  I've always wanted to do a Band Sampler and it seemed like the best time to start one.  Although I've been kind of lax in stitching every day.

Over at Scrap Happy, it's time to show off your RED.  I'm doing a basket for each month for RSC 2021..the color for May is Red....this is my little RED basket.

Well, that's it for today...I'm linking up with...

U IS FOR......

 UP the stairs......

which I don't do anymore.  My bedroom used to be upstairs...but I can't climb them anymore.  How many steps are there....19.  Way tooooo many for me!

This is the last Blue Scrappy Saturday over at So Scrappy.  I've not got any BLUE to show you, but all the A to Z items for this quilt were made with scarps from my scrap bags.

I have a UFO  that is almost a filmsy.  The Tile Quilt needs  3 strips and it will be done.

The Salt and Sand quilt is progressing.  All the fish are sewn on, the next border row will be Sand, I'll be adding Clams to this border.

These 3 quilts are my main focus for now.  So for today, I'll be cutting strips for the Tile Quilt, and a large strip for the Salt and Sand quilt.  What are you working on today?

A TO Z BLOGGING......

Today's A to Z  letter is C.....in this case....CAT.  This is my Cat block.

We have 2 black cats that adopted us. They are both black and you can't tell them apart unless you get close to them..Spade has blue eyes, and Duse has bald spots on his ears.  This is Duse having lunch.

This is Spade keeping tabs on where Bob is.  Bob chases him all the time.

All the blocks I'm making for A to Z are 10 1/2" Bleached Muslin.

Before I forget again...Apple for A was done on April 1, but forgot to post it.

For RSC 2021 this month...the color is light blue.  I switched to Dark Blue as my supply of light blue scraps is getting low.  I'm making these little baskets  for.  It's all pined and ready to applique down.

UFO'S......

we all have them...it could be one that's been around for years or it could be one that was made the beginning of this year.  I personally have around 15 of them.  Right now I've got 2 ready to finish.  Sunbonnet Sue is getting binding.

Overall Sam is in my hoop being tied.

Yesterday I cut the fabric to put my Red Work quilt together.  I think I'll put a final border of  a light green to this one.  So I have more than enough to keep me busy.

Plus I'm still working on the frogs and tile quilts.  And over at Scrap Happy, the color for March will be green...have to get a basket done for this one.

SCRAPS AND TYING.....

It's a rainy day today...so working on my RSC quilt blocks will be a good project...along with working on Zoey's quilt.

I've been playing catch up on the RSC challenge.  I have 4 more blocks to make for April and I'll be all caught up....just in time for the new color in July.  June has been PINK..I've got them all done.

I am making 5 Crazy Quilt blocks for each color...which at the end of the year will give me  60 8 1/2" blocks.....then they also need to be embellished...this is going to be a quilt that will be put on my To-Finish list....when it comes to embellishing them...sometimes a block will sit for days...while I figure out how I want to embellish it.  So you could say this is a long term quilt that will be waiting a while to get finished.  IN THE MEAN TIME.........

I've got Zoey's quilt in the hoop and started tying it.
I didn't relize how big this quilt was until I started putting it together....I was going for twin size but it's bigger than a twin size.  I haven't measured it...witch is a bad thing for me...I tend to eyeball it on measurements...but I'd say it's between a twin and full size.  It should fit Zoey's twin bed.  The date to have this finished is before Zoey's birthday in August.  Hopefully I'll get done in time.

Hope you all have a wonderful.....

SCRAP HAPPY......

Over at Scarp Happy, the color for the month is Dark Greens.  So I've been working on a Frog Wall Hanging.  I've got 2 blocks done..but....there is always a but.....I'm not happy with the positioning of the blocks.  Too much of the fern like fabric between the two blocks....and I need to turn the lily pad block, so it's sideways which will fix the border problem.   Better get the seam ripper out....
I've also got a few 8 1/2' Crazy Quilt blocks done.  Before someone asks what those pieces of fabric pinned in the corners are.....I keep a Crazy Quilt Journal....so I save little snippets of the fabrics used for making a block.  Now I get to add embroidery stitches and all the other embellishments on the block.  Some examples of embellishments are lace, ribbon, buttons, charms, ribbon.....basically what ever you can sew on to the block is a go....

 Have a great Scrappy

SCRAPS.....

The color for Scrap Happy this month for RSC(Rainbow Scrap Challenge) the color is Dark Green.  Pulled all my scraps of green out of my Scrap fabric boxes...

I decided to make a wall hanging of frogs.....found a frog to applique...and lily pads to applique...
The frog...
The Lily Pad

I've got two frogs done and two lily pads.  I want to put a border around them, but haven't decided what to do with that.  I was thinking of cutting 1" strips in different shades of green and using them, but I'll have to think about that one a while.  I do know the larger border around the blocks will be a pretty green...I also got my Scrappy Quilt in the hoop, it needs to be tied...
So I'll be working on that one this week.  I should have it ready to put binding on sometime this week.  Have great scrappy....
