A Man Named Ove - Fredrick Backman
Product Description(Amazon.com)
Meet Ove. He’s a curmudgeon—the kind of man who points at people he
dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He
has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call
him “the bitter neighbor from hell.” But must Ove be bitter just because
he doesn’t walk around with a smile plastered to his face all the time?
Behind
the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness. So when one
November morning a chatty young couple with two chatty young daughters
move in next door and accidentally flatten Ove’s mailbox, it is the
lead-in to a comical and heartwarming tale of unkempt cats, unexpected
friendship, and the ancient art of backing up a U-Haul. All of which
will change one cranky old man and a local residents’ association to
their very foundations.

MY THOUGHTS: This is my book clubs choice for June. I really enjoyed reading this book. It's an awesome book about the life of Ove. Ove may be a little grumpy.....well a lot grumpy, but he's also very lovable. When I started this book I was a little worried it was going to be one of those books I couldn't finish, but the more I read, the more I wanted to find out what the heck was going on with Ove. Why was he so grumpy, why didn't he want to be friendly with people and why did he want to kill himself? The story this author tells starts with Ove as a boy and follows him through marriage. If's an awesome book to read and you find out through reading the book why Ove is like he is. If you get a chance to read this book, do it, I highly recommend this book. I give this book 5......
