I saw this article the other day that asked, “Are you ashamed of skipping parts of books?” Which, naturally, made me want to ask all of YOU.
Do you skip ahead in a book? Do you feel badly about it when you do?
Well I guess I'm guilty of doing this. Not very often but sometimes. If the book doesn't keep me interested I do skip ahead to find something that does. But that doesn't always work. I did that with this book.................
In The Kitchen by Monica Ali
I skipped pages looking for something that would hold by interest. But it didn't work, I couldn't finish the book. Way too many characters and too much info, it kept me flipping pages trying to figure out who was who and what they were doing. Do I feel guilty about skipping pages? No, it gets me to where I want to be faster and I can enjoy the book much more.
Most of my reading is for entertainment. Therefore, if I'm not being entertained, I never feel guilty about skipping to the last chapter and seeing the end results.
ReplyDeleteMost of the time if the book is so boring I can't stand reading it, I never skip or skim it, I just chalk it up to a bad choice of book, and move on to the next book. I have to many good books on my bookshelves waiting to be read, and saying, "Choose me next!"
Thanks for your visit today.
Bravo for not feeling guilty!! haha I bet if I do more research before requesting books I don't want to read, that would help me!! Thx for stopping by my BTT!! I'm a new GFC!
