ALEXIS'S QUILT.....

I was moving along with making blocks for Alexis's quilt.  I had 5 and  a half rows done.  And.....what is this....I'm out of the green I've been using.  So I pieced some of the pieces I had to get my 6 rows.  But as you can see....it's still toooooo short for a twin size bed.

It needs 2 more rows....ummm what to do.  Well, let's think about this....I could add a row to the top and bottom that has a different color...or put lots of borders on it, but I don't really want to do that.  I think I'm going to go with my first choice....using the white on white and a different color for the blocks.  Maybe blue would work????  I'll have to lay it out to see what it looks like.  I know, once it's done, it will have a border around it.  I've already got the fabric cut for that.

I've added a few more String blocks to my pile...I really need to get back to working on this.

I also worked on my Band Sampler a couple days this week.  Last time I showed it, I was at the orange Sheaf Stitch.

Now I need to figure out what to do for July.  This is a personal journal Band Sampler I'm working on.  It's my account of the 2021 year.  Well, I guess that's it for now.  I'm linking up with these folks...so head over and check out what everyone is working on.  Have a lazy stitching....

  1. That band sampler is such an interesting project. Sorry you ran out of fabric for Alexis's quilt! Best of luck on finding fabric to lengthen it.

  2. I've never heard of a band sampler, what a neat idea! I'm sure you'll find a good solution to make Alexi's quilt longer. Sometimes the best ideas come from running out of fabric!

You could consider adding scrappy string blocks around your sampler quilt?!

  5. It's a great quilt with plenty of colours to choose from to add to the top and bottom! But I can see blue working nicely.

  7. Pretty quilt, and I'm sure you will find a great solution. Maybe adding sashings could be also an option to make it bigger?
    Fun string blocks too!
