SUNDAY ALREADY!

Where did the week go?  I've been working on my "squirrel" project I started last week.  Did you eat Candy Hearts when you were a kid?  I did, one of my favorites.  I decided I'd make some.  So to the drawing board.  I have 3 yards of  a red check fabric.  So I got all my colors thought out and started making hearts.  I also went looking for the sayings on Candy Hearts.  Google is an awesome resource when looking for something.  I've got the first row done...yea.

So that's what I've been working on this week.  I got out my Band Sampler and did some stitching on it.

This is where I was last time I worked on it.  I wanted something else at the top with the year...so went looking for some inspiration yesterday.  So I headed over to Mary Corbet's place, Needle N' Thread.  She has a challenge going for the year.  You can read about it HERE.  Of course it's a Band Sampler Challenge.  So I've been working on mine off and on...mostly off...yesterday I wanted to put something at the top and Mary had a great idea for hers.

I put some swirls around the year using a Cable Chain Stitch.  I think it still needs something else.  Maybe some French Knots or Bullion Knots.  I'll have to think about this a while.  Plus I need to add June, July, and August info on here.  I'm kind of using this as a monthly journal of happenings here.  So I'll be working on this today as my Slow Sunday Stitching.  Which is hosted over at Kathy's place.  Head over and check out what everyone is working on.

I'm also linking up with Life in Pieces for 15 Minutes to Stitch.

Hope you have a great stitching....

  2. Your candy hearts project is going to be so cute! I used to have my 5th grade students make those to decorate the classroom for Valentine's Day. They came up with some funny sayings to write on the hearts!

  3. I remember candy hearts as a kid. I used to love reading the sweet sayings. Love your hearts resting on the bright and happy gingham. Your Band Sampler is coming along nicely. Love those swirls at the top; they are very effective. Doesn't time fly?? Another month flies off into the land of memories.
