QUILTS...QUILTS....AND MORE QUILTS.......

Do you make quilts?  What process of quilting do you like?  For me it's the stitching.  I do applique work and when the blocks are done and put together, I tend to end the quilt process.  Because I putting them together.  To me it's like a giant chore that you keep putting off.  At the moment I have 17 quilt tops that need to be sandwiched and finished up.
A few of them still need borders added, but the rest just need to put together.  Knowing me, it won't happen any time soon.  So I'm declaring here on my blog that these will be put together.  I'm calling it my Quilt Finishing Project.  I will be listing them on my sidebar and mark them off as I get them done.  Hopefully doing this I will get them all done eventually.  One of my problems is money.  I don't always have the money to buy all the materials, so this will me a slow process.

On to the next quilt, as if I need to add another one to the pile.  lol  But at the moment I'm working on a Spring Quilt.  Still have a couple more blocks to finish up and this one will go in the pile.
I've put some embroidery on this one.  I've found I really like doing embroidery work.  It's very relaxing.  Here's the Caterpillar Block up close.
Heather over at Books and Quilts asks this question.......

Do you have a project that you've been working on for what seems like ages?

Yes I do, the crazy quilt I'm working on is one such project.  It's like I'm moving along pretty fast and then all of a sudden it comes to a screeching halt.  This is block 5 and I'm stumped as what to do with it.  So it's laying in my quilt tub waiting for inspiration.
You may wonder what is a Quilt Tub.  Well it's actually a 5 gal. ice cream tub.  That is where I keep my current projects I'm working on.  Along with pin cushion, threads, scissors and other stuff I use when working on a quilt.
Where do you keep your supplies?  I am also linking up with Heather over at Books and Quilts for Needlework Tuesday.  Heather has a couple of beautiful quilts she is working.  Head over and check them out.

  1. Lovely quilts! That caterpillar is cute!

I don't quilt that much, but I'm not good at the finishing part either. I have a number of mini quilt tops that have been sitting around for ages. Maybe one day they'll get finished.

As for storing craft supplies, I mostly store them in make-do containers: ice cream pails, shoe boxes, coffee cans, margarine tubs, tin cans, etc. Things that others would throw out or recycle. In the past, I have bought some specialized containers for craft supplies (rolling carts, pretty baskets). They might look better, but they don't function any better than my make-do ones.

    Have a great week!

  2. I also have a large stack of quilt tops. I started counting them and had to stop, I don't want to know how many there really are. Some of them are small and would be easy to finish, but for some reason instead of finishing, I start something new. Lots of them even have their backing material some even the batting.

I am going to finish the current one, honest.

Thanks for linking up with Needlework Tuesday.
