The Museum of Extraordinary Things - Alice Hoffman

My Book Beginning....
You would think it would be impossible to find anything new in the world, creatures no man has ever seen before, one-of-a-kind oddities in which nature has taken a backseat to the coursing pulse of the fantastical and the marvelous.

Very catchy first sentence.  Had me hooked, along with the cover.

My Friday 56
When the grid of Manhattan streets was created, in 1811, a grand project that would forever change the city, filling in streams, ridding the map of  meandering roads, Ninth Avenue cut through the center of Moore's estate.
