CREATIVITY CHALLENGE #24....

We have been assigned a challenge.   Read a book on creativity.  Well, I have two such books.  Not really creativity books, but I've bought them for my use.  So I'm going to use them.  I've wanted to make a Baltimore Album quilt for years.  But never quite got around to doing one.  Why, you might ask?  Well, I guess I would say I don't have the confidence to try one, YET!  It's a someday quilt I want to make.   Here is the book and it's linked to Amazon.com if you want to take a look at it.

A Baltimore Album - Marsha D. Radtke

The other book I have is also a quilt book.  I was blog hopping and found this one.  I loved the colors and shapes of it.  But once again it's a someday quilt I want to do.  I want to take different parts of the designers ideas and make my own quilt.  I have the idea in my head, but I really should put it down on paper.  Before I FORGET it.

Lady Bug & Friends - Carla Scott & Leanne Smith

Don't forget to head over to Shelly's place Prairie Moon Quilts.  She has lots of "stuff" to find there.  It's not just quilts.

A YEAR OF CREATIVITY.....

Shelly over at Prairie Moon Quilts is the host for the Year of Creativity.  Hop over and check out her place.  Lots of interesting things to see.
I'm so behind on the challenges Shelly sets for us.  But I'm all caught up now.

Challenge # 20
Use Watercolor Paints
I'm not too good a drawing but I like this one.

Challenge # 21
Illustrate Your Name
This one didn't turn out like I imagined.

Challenge #22
Work on a previous challenge
I worked on my Smash Book.  This is my niece's graduation.
This is Luke the last day of school.  They had lots of fun playing in water and lots of games to play.

Challenge #23
Paint a watercolor background
I really like this, not sure what we are going to do with it, but I'm sure Shelly has something in mind.  I'm now all caught us on the challenges.  Looking forward to the new out on Thursday.

CREATIVITY.....

Shelly over at Prairie Moon Quilts is hosting A Year of Creativity.  Want to find your Creativity?  Hop over to Shelly's place and check it out.
Challenge #18

Work on some hand lettering....
I did some practicing on my writing.  I have to make myself slow down when I write.  If not it turns into a mess.  Here is my page of lettering.
Challenge #19

Use something unexpected as a base for a drawing.....
I was thinking about this one a lot.  Wasn't quite sure what I wanted to use.  Then our local paper came in the mail and the light bulb went on.  There was an article about the library having a book sale.  So I drew some books and put some of my favorite authors on them.  I just used a marker go do this.  It's pretty simple, but I like it.

CREATIVITY CHALLENGE......

Shelly over at Prairie Moon Quilts  is the host for The Creativity Challenge.  Shelly gives us things to do every week.  Drawing, coloring and other stuff.  As usual I'm a week behind.

Creativity Challenge #16
Draw Something With Colored Markers
That's suppose to be a Sunflower in the middle of the page.  It didn't come out the way I envisioned it.

Creativity Challenge #17
Illustrate Something You Don't Particularly Care For
This is suppose to be a hamburger.  I usually have ketchup and onions on my hamburger, but every once in awhile someone puts pickles on it.  I HATE PICKLES!!  So I just take them off.  But I can still taste them.

CREATIVITY......

is a tricky thing.  Some people have it and some don't.  I'm one of the DON'TS.  Sure I create quilts and I crochet, but to me Creativity is taking a piece of paper and making this.....
Well, Shelly over at Prairie Moon Quilts is doing a Creativity Challenge this year.  I'm been doing the challenges every week.  But have been procrastinating about posting them.

Challenge #12 we were suppose to make a Mini Quilt.  That one threw me off big time.  I've never made one before and I wasn't quite sure how or if I wanted to make one.  So I went looking for info on Mini Quilts and boy is there lots of info out there about them.  And they all sound really TINY.....to tiny for me.  So I've put that one on hold for a while until I can figure it out.

Challenge #13 was to Color With Crayons.  I can do that, I don't like it, but I did it.  Not that I don't like to color, because I love to color, I just don't like coloring with crayons.  I prefer using colored pencils.  Anyway, here is my coloring....

Challenge #14 was to Organize our Creative Stuff.  Get all in one spot so it's easier to be more spontaneous when we get creative.  I don't have a special room for my creativity, so I went for getting all my pens, crayons, sketch book, pencils and other stuff into a box that I can readily get to.  This is my creative box....
Challenge #15 we are suppose to divide a page into sections and make daily drawings in the sections.  I think I can do this.  But, be warned.....I'm not a good drawer.  I can doodle, but actually draw a picture of something, nope can't draw.  Well, that's enough rambling for me today.  Got dishes to do and I have to make a run to the library.  Hope you all have a great day!

QUILTS AND CREATIVITY......

I was blog hopping the other day and found Red Letter Quilts.  She has this thing going on over there that I'm going to join.  It's called OMG one monthly goal.  Here is some more info....

Select ONE  of  your quilt-related goals and describe it in a blog post, with photo(s) of said project, and what you aim to finish.

What I'm going to work on in March is off my Quilt Finishing List.  The list is on my sidebar.  I'm going to bind the Winter Quilt and start on the Dots Quilt.  I'm going to TRY and finish the Dots Quilt, but not sure if it will get done.

 Dots Quilts
Over at Quilty Folk, there are lots of circles being made.  Go check it out.  There are lots of folks working on this and they have some COOL ideas on making their quilts.  I got all my February circles done.  Here they are in chronological order by the February calendar.
I haven't started putting them together yet.  Not sure how I'm going to do this.  Still thinking about this one.  For now they are living in little baggies with their month on the baggie.
 ******************************************************************************
I've also been working on my Smash/Junk Journal.  This is part of the Creativity Challenge over at Prairie Moon Quilts.  I changed the one I was using for a Composition Book.  The pages are lots thicker than the other one I was using.  This book is going to be "stuff " that I like, it's All About Me.
The cover....
I collect chickens so this picture was a good thing to add.  I also like working crossword puzzles.
Some quilt stuff I've added.  The trip to Joann Fabrics receipt and a snip of the fabric I bought.

CREATIVITY CHALLENGE #7.......

We are suppose to start a Junk/Smash Journal.  Don't know what that is?  Click here for more info.  I've started my Smash Book, it's about my stuff.  Recipes, lists, books, movies, tv shows......it's basically ALL ABOUT ME....I'm still working on it, so it's kind of rough right now.  But then again Smash Books are suppose to be kind of rough.  They aren't perfect like scrapbooks.
This is the cover of my Smash Book.  I picked this up at Dollar Store.
Some pictures I got out of a magazine and a grocery store flyer.
A pretty Quilt and a recipe I want to try.
A pretty card and some bookmarks from my library.
A few receipts I've saved.

If you want to join in on the Creativity Challenge head over to Prairie Moon Quilts and check it out.  It's lots of fun!

CREATIVITY CHALLENGE......

I've been slacking on this for the last couple weeks.  I've got the challenges done, but haven't posted them.  Challenge #5 was to illustrate something four ways.  I wasn't too sure how to do this one, so I just did what I thought was right.  This is my version....
I started with a smiley face and progressed from there.

Challenge #6 was to make a drawing using crayons.  I'm not a very good drawer, so I went something simple.  It's my version of a vase of flowers.
The table didn't come out very well, but overall I like the picture.

For Challenge #7 we are suppose to start a smash/junk book.  I've been wanting to make one of these for a while.  But where to start????  So I'm going to give it a try.  If you want to join in, just head over to Prairie Moon Quilts and check out this Creativity Challenge....

CREATIVITY CHALLENGE #4.....

Shelley over at Prairie Moons Quilts is the host for this Challenge.

The challenge is to kick your Creativity into gear and see where it leads you.  #4 challenge is to color, not just any coloring book, but and Adult Coloring Book.  I've been looking at them, but never bought one before.  This is the one I went with.
I love to color.....I've been known to grab the kids coloring books and just color a few hours.  It's very relaxing.  I used Crayola Colored Pencils to color.  I've tried several different coloring tools, but I prefer Colored Pencils.  This is the first picture I colored....
And I colored another one...Bella was watching me color.  She went and got her Dora Coloring book, but she didn't color.  I'm hoping she will color with me one of these days.

WORDS AND DOODDLE.......

The Creativity Challenge #3  was to write random words down you hear.  Here are mine....
I'm still working on this one.  I'm going to try and fill the whole page.  I've also been doodling.
Not sure where this one is going, but I'm still working on it.  If you want to check this Creativity Challenge out, head over to Shelly's place, Prairie Moon Quilts.

CREATIVITY CHALLENGE.....

Shelly over at Prairie Moons Quilts is hosting The Creativity Challenge.  This week we were to....

Make your initial out of something

Well that was thought provoking.  I had to come up with something.  So why not something with fabric, since I do have lots of fabric.  So I made a pillow.

I found an S and appliqued it to my fabric.  It's only a 12 inch pillow.  But it's kind of cute.
