WHY I LIKE THURSDAY.....

The main thing is....the SUN is shining today.  It's been a gray gloomy week here.  So seeing the sun is AWESOME!!

I was over at LA Paylor's place and she's got some awesome quilts to show.  Hop over and check them out...oh, did I mention she is the host for I Like Thursdays.  That's another reason to like Thursdays.

I like that I'm making progress on my Frogs Quilt.  I did a red frog last night...he still needs some embroidery done on his face.

I got some yarn for Christmas.

So I started an Afghan, the pattern is from the February issue of Crochet World.

In the same magazine, there is a pattern for a scrappy afghan.  I have lots of  left over yarns from previous projects, so I started a Scrappy Afghan.

I've also gotten all my UFO's figured out...made a list of the quilts I want to finish this year....but may run into 2022.  We'll see how that goes.  All of these quilts are either a filmsy, needs more blocks, or close to being finished.  All I have to do is get busy and FINISH them!  Which is one of the things I hate about quilting, putting them together.  You can read all about it in my PHD tab at the top of my blog, and pictures of the quilt blocks

LOTS OF STUFF TO SEE.....

I've got a long post....so don't give up in the middle...keep reading!

I'm doing a monthly post on I'm Following A Tree...keeping track of one tree is the idea.  My tree is a big Maple outside the back door.  Not too much going on right now...but yesterday was a little windy...did you know when the wind blows...the leaves on a Maple tree are silver...really..
And don't ask what the yellow thing hanging on the bottom of the tree...I think it's a reflection...I was shooting this picture through the glass.

I've also joined up for a Summer Photo Challenge...the info and list of items are on my side bar...here's a few things I found from the list.
2. Something with a knot...Thread...
3. Something with the colors of your country’s flag...

It's a Chipmunk...we have lots of them here....when the cats don't find them...they scamper around looking for food or just take a few moments to rest....Chipmunks are small, striped rodents of the family Sciuridae. Chipmunks are found in North America, with the exception of the Siberian chipmunk which is found primarily in Asia.

SOME OF THIS AND SOME OF THAT.....

Do you have lots of little pieces of fabric...not big enough to do anything with....I started using them to make what I call a Shape Blocks...
Years ago I was participating in the 350 Blocks Projects over at Shelly's place..Prairie Moon....sorry to say I didn't get many done before I gave up....Shelly was also doing something she called...Tile Quilt...This popped into my head a few day ago...so I started browsing around until I found it.  I've decided to do a Tile Quilt out of my tiny pieces of scraps...I can't show Shelly's , but here's mine...
I keep adding pieces until I get the block as full as I want it, then I'll trim it down to a size I like.  I'm going to play around with different background fabrics and see what I can do with them.
Have you been having hot and humid weather?  It's keeping me from working on a quilt I've got in the hoop...it needs tied...having it laying on me is really miserable...We have for the last 2 weeks...High 80's and the humidity has steadily been creeping up.  Today it's 85..but feels like 87...the humidity is at 52% and the dew point is at 65...which all together makes it feel miserable.  I am thankful our air conditioner is working...please excuse the dust!
I thought I would share some blogs for quilts...you never know you might find your next quilt idea.
