BOOKS, FLOWERS AND QUILTING....

My post today is full of things I like...books, flowers and quilting...so take a few minutes to find out all that I've been doing or not doing this past week....

To-Do Tuesday
July 7th through the 13th

1. Finish tying  Zoe's quilt.
2.  Embellish more of the Crazy Quilt blocks.
3.  Sandwich the Valentine Quilt.

To-Do Tuesday

July 14 through July 20
1. Finish tying Zoe's quilt
2. Sandwich the Valentine Quilt
3. Embellish more crazy quilt blocks

I only got 1 thing on my list done last week.  I've been obsessed with these crazy quilt blocks all week and didn't get any more quilting "stuff" done at all.  I've got the January blocks done and have started the February blocks.  Over at Sharon's place, Pintangle, she has lots of embroidery stitches to learn...I also get lots of ideas for my crazy quilt embellishments.
Do you pick up books at book fairs or rummage sales?  I do both.  I've been trying to sort out the one's I have read...so I can have some new books to read...I've got a few added to my pile.

My favorite summer time flowers that are a weed....Queen Anne's Lace.
Welcome to My Corner of the World
April was really rainy...almost 7 inches...behind our barn the water stands....and it looks like there is a lake back there...I had a houseful of company in May.  The girls decided to go "outback" behind the barn and explore.  What they found was water and MUD...
I was doing laundry a lot that week....as the girls did a lot of exploring...

PHOTOS.......WHY NOT

Wordless Wednesday....and Welcome to my World
In the spring...we get lots of rain..so far the rain is almost 5 inches.  And it's suppose to rain more next week.  This picture is what we call "Outback".  It's a field behind our barn.  There are tadpoles, worms, and on occasions....ducks here.  My son usually buys some minnows to throw in there to eat the mosquitoes.

DOWN MEMORY LANE......

 WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

I was cleaning some files on my computer and found this...When the twins were 2 or 3, they loved being outside.  Bella would sit for the longest time playing with her toys...and eventually Bub would come over to see what she was doing.  This was taken May 2012......

WELCOME TO MY WORLD

I don't know how many dishes I've washed over the  years .....but 40 years of it was standing here, looking out the kitchen window.  This is one of my favorite pictures....

WORDS....OR NOT WORDS....

Wordless Wednesday...with words.

Mackinaw Bridge

Wondrous Words Wednesday

I found this word in a book I read...In Good Faith by Scott Pratt.  See my review here....Just Books.

Sophistry...."trying to argue that I had benefited in any way from the disaster was pure sophistry"
Sophistry means.. the use of fallacious arguments, especially with the intention of deceiving.

I have this little patch of rocks, weeds and grass growing under my kitchen window.  I've always wanted to do something with this, but not quite sure what to plant.  The area gets sun most of the day.  Plus when it rains, it drips off the eaves.   I've thought about putting cacti here, or succulents, but not really sure if that would work.  Have any suggestions??   Have an awesome....
