FOGGY MORNING......
As I got up this morning it was foggy and cloudy. But the fog has started breaking up.
I'm linking up with Melinda over at West Metro Mommy Reads for Saturday Snapshot.
It is suppose to start raining today. Sometime during the morning hours it is suppose to change to snow. We are expecting 3 to 5" of snow with cold and wind. Blizzard like conditions. Wind chills 5 to 10 degrees below zero. This is the prediction of the snow track by our local T. V. station.
The green is rain, the pink is rain/snow mix and the blue is snow.I'm linking up with Melinda over at West Metro Mommy Reads for Saturday Snapshot.

The Menagerie - Tui T. Sutherland
MY BOOK BEGINNING
Logan Wilde noticed the feathers as soon as he woke up. There were five of them scattered across his gray carpet like autumn leaves.
I've only just started this book, but it's getting good and I want to find out about the menagerie.
THE FRIDAY 56
It wasn't a rhinoceros after all. It was dog...a dognearly the size of a rhinoceros. And although Logan considered himself a dog person, this was not the kind of dog he had in mind.
Logan is inside the menagerie and there are lots of strange creatures there.
BOOK BLOGGER HOP
Have you made any
improvements on your blog since your started your blog? Did you change
the format? Did you change your header? Did you add or remove items from
your side bar?

KITCHEN UTENSILS......
We all have them scattered around the kitchen. But have you ever noticed you certain ones more than other? I have lots and lots of them, I have to admit I'm a utensil junkie. If I'm out at and about, it's the first place I head. To see if there are any new utensils I haven't got.
But these are my favorites. I use them the most. Spatulas and Wood Spoons.
How about you? Do you have a favorite kitchen utensils?

BOOK REPORT......
The Pirates of Crocodile Swamp - Jim Arnosky
Product Description(Amazon.com)
A long way from home, Sandy and Jack Casperin escape their abusive father and disappear into Crocodile Swamp, a remote wilderness in the Florida Keys. With nothing but their wits and limited supplies, the boys must learn to fend for themselves as they survive surrounded by snakes, massive crocodiles and a territorial hammerhead shark. But it is only with the help of newfound friends?a local girl their age, and an old sailor (who might be a real pirate!)? that they can truly escape from their tragic past and make a new life for themselves.
Hardcover: 240 pages
Publisher: G.P. Putnam's Sons Books for Young Readers (March 5, 2009)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 0399250689
ISBN-13: 978-0399250682
MY THOUGHTS: When Sandy and Jack's father kidnaps them and is running from a possible murder of the boys mother, Sandy and Jack decide to run themselves. They take all their dad's money and leave in the dead of the night. They decide to go to Key Largo, Florida, to Crocodile Swamp. They believe their dad won't come there to get them. Sandy and Jack get supplies and a boat and take off to find Crocodile Swamp. They make a couple friends while there that help them out. Really good book, loved it. It's not as bad as it sounds, there is a happy ending. I give this book 4......
This also for the Location A - Z reading challenge over at Wacky Reading Challenges at Good Reads.

When Apples Grew Noses And White Horses Flew - Jan Andrews
Product Description(Amazon.com)
In these three imaginative stories, Jan Andrews introduces us to Quebec’s traditional folktale hero, Ti-Jean. He’s an endearing character who is both wise and foolish, and though he does find himself in hard situations (often of his own making), in the end, he somehow manages to do what needs to be done. In “Ti-Jean and the Princess of Tomboso” he eventually outwits a greedy princess; in “Ti-Jean the Marble Player” he gets the best of a pint-sized scoundrel; and in “How Ti-Jean Became a Fiddler” he turns the tables on a too-clever-for-her-own-good seigneur’s daughter, and finds true love in the process.
Hardcover: 72 pages
Publisher: Groundwood Books (April 1, 2011)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 0888999526
ISBN-13: 978-0888999528
MY THOUGHTS: This is a really cute book. Loved reading it. It brought back memories of fairy tales I read as a child. In each story there is a moral to the story. Ti-Jean learns something in every story. I give this book 4.....

LIBRARY RUN......
Made a run to the library today. We finally have beautiful blue sky to see. Haven't seen the sun for more than 5 to 15 minutes or not at all for 2 weeks. The sun is shinning today.
Isn't blue beautiful. But it's still rather chilly out. Temp is 29 degrees. Got my list all made out for the books I wanted and off I went to the library. This is what I came home with.
This should keep me busy for a couple weeks.

NEW QUILT.......
Yea, I know, as if I need to add another one to my list. But I can't help it. I get all these ideas rolling around in my head and I have to do them. This one is 4th of July. I've got a few of the blocks done.
Bow....
Fire Cracker...
Star in a star....
Watermelon.....
I haven't started this one yet. But I was at Wal Mart and picked this one up. I thought I could work on it over the year.
There are six blocks and they are embroidered. Then you put your blocks together with your choice of fabric. I have to make a trip to Jo Ann's to get some floss.
I'm linking up with Kathy over at Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching. Head over and check out all the projects everyone is working on.

A YEAR OF CULTIVATING CREATIVITY.......
Prairie Moon Quilts is hosting A Year of Cultivating Creativity. Here is some more info:
This year, I’m planning to offer up a series of weekly Creativity Challenges. I’m doing this so that I can jump-start my own imagination in new directions, improve my skills, possibly add some new skills, keep myself out of that all-too-familiar rut, challenge myself to try new things I might not otherwise try, and hopefully, become way more creative in the process.I am going to try this out. Not sure if I'll finish but I'm going to do my best.
I’m inviting you to join me.
