 is Wonderous Words Wednesday.  What the heck is this?  Just answer 3 questions.

1. What are you currently reading?

Nothing right now.  I seem to have lost my reading mojo.  Haven't read a book for months.  I'm hoping to remedy that soon.

2.  What did you recently finish reading?

 

Target Alex Cross -James Patterson.  I can read James Patterson books even when my reading mojo is a mess.  He's one of my favorite writers.  

Synopsis

A killer elite - six assassins - are on the loose. So is Alex Cross. 

A leader has fallen, and Alex Cross joins the procession of mourners from Capitol Hill to the White House. Then a sniper's bullet strikes a target in the heart of DC. Alex Cross' wife, Bree Stone, newly elevated chief of DC detectives, must solve the case or lose her position. The Secret Service and the FBI deploy as well in the race to find the shooter. 

Alex is tasked by the new president to lead an investigation unprecedented in scale and scope. But is the sniper's strike only the beginning of a larger attack on the nation?  

I've read all the Alex Cross books and really, really like them.  So when this one came to my library I snatched it up.  This one has lots of mystery and intrigue in it.  After the President is assassinated, Alex is called to join a special task force to find out who did this.  While Alex's wife Bree Stone, she's the Chief of the DC Metro Police.  is also on the case.  Alex finally figures out there is more than one shooter out there.  The race is on to find out who and why.  Is it a foreign country trying to take over our country or could it be an inside job???

3.  What do you think you'll read next?

I have not idea.  I have a Book Club book waiting for me at the library, don't know what it is, put I'll be picking that up today.

 1. The Daisy embroidery didn't get done.  I haven't been in the mood to embroider.

2. I made 5 more String Blocks this week.

3, I've started  tying the Improv Quilt.  We are currently having  very hot temps with very HIGH humidity..which isn't good for having a quilt laying on your lap...so it's been slow going working on this quilt.

4.  I pulled some fabric for It's A Guy Thing Blog Hop.  I'll be making 9 patches.  Haven't made a 9 patch quilt for awhile...so I thought this would be a great time to make one.  I'll also be mixing some white into these fabrics.  And I don't know why, but the brown on the lower right corner is showing up as red.

June 29th through July 5th

1. Do more embroidery on the Clams.

2. Work on my, not sure what this is..click on the link and you'll find a brief history on this.  Band Sampler.

3.  Start sewing the RSC 2021 blocks together.

CLAM EMBROIDERY....

 yea, you read that right.  I'm putting the lines on the clams for the Salt and Sand quilt.  It's slow process, as there are 21 clams to embroider.  

I've been embroidering the lines on the clams this week.  

 I need to do something with the Fish eyes...you cant see them very well.  Maybe a small button.....

I've also been working on the Improv Quilt.  Started tying it this week.  

 I've also got a few more String blocks done.

THURSDAY ALREADY....WHERE DID......

 last week go...it seems time moves faster than me, lol...Although I've been having trouble getting around this week, the weather affects my arthritis, I have been working on several quilts.

I've started the embroidery of the lines on the clams on the Salt and Sand quilt.

I pulled the RSC 2021 blocks out of the UFO box....they are now in my To-do box.

I also put some fabric for the It's a Guy Thing Blog Hop.  I think I'm going to make 9 patches for this quilt.  I haven't made one for years.  Or maybe start a postage stamp quilt.  I've always wanted to make one of these, but never have.

And I've been working on my String Quilt...got several more blocks finished.  

I've got a nice selection of fabric bagged up into 1" and 2" strips, so it should keep me busy for awhile.

3. I got several String blocks done.  I really like working on these a lot.  Plus it uses up scraps!

4. A big thumbs down👎 on working on the daisy embroidery.  Haven't been in the mood to work on this one...I think I'll have to move up on my list of to-do's.

ANOTHER THURSDAY......

 The days seem to fly by...I get busy doing this and that chores around the house.  Then I sit down for my evening T.V. shows.  At the moment I'm  watching season 8 of Chicago Fire on Peacock. 

I've spent the last few days working on my Fairy Tale Quilt...this is for the Fairy Tale Blog Hop.  Are you joining in?  My day to post is Monday, June 21st.  So that's what I've been concentrating on, getting a few blocks done.  This isn't going to be a couple weeks or a couple months finish.  I'll be working on this for awhile.

Last Week

It's a sad list of nothing done....I was working on getting the Tile Quilt finished.  You can see my post on that HERE. 

1. I found a tutorial for placing my Red Work blocks on point.  I'll be working on that one, I'm not 100% sure how to do this, so it will be a trial and error thing. 

2. NO on the Daisy, didn't do any embroidery.

3. I got the Crazy Quilt blocks out of the UFO box, but that's as far as it went.

4. Didn't get any thing done on Salt and Sand.

Sorry, no pictures today....my son's server, where my pictures are stored....crashed.  So he's been working on getting that up and running again.

I can show you some of my flowers that are blooming now.  The Lilly's are in full bloom right now.

Also my Antique Rose bush is blooming.   I have lived her for almost 40 years.  This rose bush was here when I moved here, way back in 1981.  I don't know the name of the rose, but it has bloomed every year that I've lived here.  The picture doesn't show the actual color very well.  It is a very dark red.

3 WEEKS.....

 since I posted a To-do Tuesday list.  My last post was May 25th and this is my list....

1.Continue on the Salt and Sand.✔

2. Work on Daisy Embroidery👎

3. Start assembling the Crazy Quilt blocks👎

4.  Cut fabric for Red Work Quilt.✔

Well, I got 2 out of 4 done, but I've made progress on the others. 

1.  I'm still working on embroidering the lines on the mussels and clams.  The mussels are all done, now onto the clams. 

2.I'm at a stand still on the Daisy...don't know if should leave the boo boo or rip it out.  The top daisy is suppose to be a long Fan Stitch and the bottom daisy is suppose to be Fish Bone Stitch.  Well, neither one looks like they are suppose to.  But this is a learning process...so I guess I'll continue on.

3. I've got all the Crazy Quilt blocks for RSC 2021 all gathered up...there are 60 blocks...so I have to do some math to figure out how I want to assemble them.

4.  I finally found a fabric I like for the Red Work...started putting it together., but I don't like it. I'm not sure I like the little basket on the alternate block either.  I want to put these blocks on point, but have no idea how to do this...I've never done a quilt on point before..so I'll have to google this and see if there is a good tutorial for this.

This week's list.

1.  Find a tutorial for placing Red Work blocks on point.

2.   Continue working on the Daisy.

3.  Start sewing the Crazy Quilt blocks together.

FINALLY.....

 found the fabric I like for my Red Work Baskets...I laid it out on my design floor to see how it looks...but I'm not liking this at all????

I thought I'd add a basket to the alternate blocks....but...isn't there always a BUT!  Not sure I like that either...this quilt is giving me a Headache trying out how to get it together.  HELP!!!  Any and all suggestions are welcomed.

TILES AND DAISIES.......

 The binding has started on the Tile Quilt.  I still enjoy doing this by hand...I know it would go a lot faster if I used my sewing machine.  This is my OMG for June.

I'm at a stand still on my Daisy embroidery.  Which you can find over at Needle n' Thread. I'm going to have to get Mister Seam Ripper out.  I messed up 2 of the daisies.  The first daisy was easy...the 2nd and 3rd daisy is the ones I messed up.  

The daisy, upper right is suppose to be long Fan Stitches...but mine are misshaped.   The second daisy, lower right is supposed to be Feather Stitch.....well, I don't know if you can see it very well, this is definitely  not a Feather Stitch.  So I'll be ripping these 2 out and re-doing them.  This is a series of small projects over at Needle N' Thread...Head over and check them out.  This is also my HSAL(Hand Stitch Along) I'm working on.  You can visit everyone and check out what they are working on.

thought I'd drop in and say HI!  Hope you all....

 

HOOPED AND TIED......

 I got the Tile Quilt tied...I'll start the binding tonight....while watching Chicago Fire on Peacock.   

I put the Improv Quilt in the hoop, it's ready to be tied. The meaning of a Improv Quilt found at Goggle.  You can see more Improv Quilt HERE.

"An Improvisational Quilt is a quilt made without specific intention. A style of the Modern Quilter, most Improvisational or Improv quilts just begin, not with a concept necessarily, but grows out of improv piecing and develops as the quilter stitches it." 

Worked a little on the Castle for my Fairy Tale Quilt.  Not sure about this combination of colors...the light pink isn't showing up very well.  May make a new block and make the castle blue...I'll be pondering on this one.

My Roses are in full bloom right now...they are so pretty against the white and red of the front porch.  Had to dust them for bugs...they like the leaves.  Last year they almost ate every leaf off the bush .  Didn't catch them in time to stop them.
