RANDOM THOUGHTS.....

Do you like finding new recipes?  I collect recipes...have been doing it for years.  This is my recipe book...it's stained from the years of cooking.

Every time I open this recipe book...a flood of memories takes over my brain...my mom, sisters, brother and friends pop out at me.
This is a recipe I found one day while browsing the internet.  Can't remember where I found it...but it is really good!
Crock-pot Oatmeal
Doesn't it look yummy!
I've been working on my RSC blocks...I'm making Crazy Quilt blocks for this.  I have a pretty good stack of them...but I'm still playing catch up..I have January, February, May and June all done.
"Stuff" I use for making Crazy Quilt Blocks.  Once the blocks are done, I get to embellish them. My list of 13 items for working on Crazy Quilt blocks....
1. Needles
2. Pins
3. Threads
4. Scissors
5. Fabric
6. Embroidery Hoop
7. Buttons
8. Beads
9. Lace
10. Ribbon

12. Yarn
13.  Embroidery Floss
Just for fun...here's a picture of my nieces and grand daughter having fun during their trip "outback" behind the barn...

Hope you have an awesome....

  8. After reading your post I am convinced that women collect recipes for the memories. Thinking back my mil would sit and look at one of her cook books she put together for hours and not make anything. The recipes were a collection from her mother, grand mother and great aunt although I am sure additional favorites from other places were added too. Thank you for the memory and for linking up to Put your foot down. Love the crazy quilt blocks too.

  9. Hi Sherrie! I am a quiet collector of recipes. I don't have many cookbooks per se, but I have tons of them printed out from the internet. Somewhere, I also have recipe boxes from my mom and sister. I just couldn't bring myself to throwing them away plus I enjoy seeing their handwriting. I agree with Denise's idea that we save them for the memories. ~smile~ Roseanne
