It took me 6 months to do the first one. It has been waiting for the second one to get done for so long it's yellowed some....hoping that comes out in the wash.
But the second one has gone unfinished for a few years and I really want to get this done. So I joined this SAL to get inspiration to finish this.
I've started on the lower left corner of the ribbon....but after looking at the chart, I've already messed it up....so have to pull some of the stitches out. Hoping to have time to have more progress at the next SAL update. Below are all the folks joining in this SAL....hop over and see what everyone is working on.

Welcome to the SAL Sherrie :-) Your embroidery deserves to be finished. We'll cheer you on. Did you copy one link at a time from my email? If so, you just need to copy and paste the whole lot in one go then I think they'll appear in lines. I hope that helps.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the SAL ! Those pillow cases look nice. In terms of washing the yellow out of the original one I saw a ton of people recommending oxiclean, working even on 20 year old stains on cross stitched work. Good luck with it :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the SAL Sherrie, it's great to have you in the gang and I look forward to seeing how your project develops. Stay well
ReplyDeleteJenny :)
A little bit of OXIclean in the water might take that yellowing out of your pillowcase. This is a pretty pattern and the SAL is a great way to stay motivated. Welcome.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the SAL, Sherrie. Looking forward to seeing your progress on the pillow case.
ReplyDeleteHi Sherrie! I've done some embroidered pillow cases but not cross stitched versions. Hope you can get into the groove and get this one done finally!
ReplyDeleteI have always loved pillowcases spilling over with pretty embroidery. Love the design on your lovely ones. How fun that it is cross stitch.
ReplyDeleteWelcome Sherrie! I know you will find the motivation and encouragement you seek from this group. I love embroidered pillow cases, here's to an excellent three weeks filled with happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteTry to do a few stitches each day and soon you will look forward to that slow stitching time each day. So good for us to have a few minutes of me time
ReplyDeleteWelcome Sherrie!!! I love a "productive" project, but am still learning embroidery -- I love the idea of embroidered pillowcases. This stitch-a-long has really helped me stay motivated and keep working on projects, I'm sure it will do the same for you!
ReplyDeletewelcome to the SAL Sherrie. Whether it's stitching, or frogging, we're hear to cheer you along ^^
ReplyDeleteI, btw, comment "anonymously" on blogspot blogs, but sign so you'll know who I am.

Welcome to this very encouraging SAL, Sherrie. We all have old projects and every now and then, their turn has come. I have embroidered many pillowcases over the years, often for gifts. This will be a great project to work on slowly. No pressure!
ReplyDeleteVälkommen Sherrie! Your embroidery is lovely and I understand that you want to get it finished!!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Sherrie! It's a pleasure to work "together"! We encourage each other!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Carmela
Welcome to the group, Sherrie! I joined for motivation too, and it is working for me.
ReplyDeleteOh I loved embroidery. My fingers don't like it anymore but I treasure the pieces I have and enjoyed giving some as gifts. It is a good way to relax I think. Unless you mess up a stitch...
ReplyDeleteA very beautiful design... enjoy your stitching!
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely! Beautiful work.
