Yesterday morning I cut all the blocks for the rest of the A-Z Blogging Challenge. Now I don't have to worry about that....just sew! Speaking of A to Z....the letter today is....K for.....
(Tea) Kettle. A pretty red one. Even though I don't drink tea, I love teapots. I made a quilt with teapots and cups a few years ago. AND......
I've got another one ready to be sandwiched.
As for my To-Do Tuesday list....it's a bust. Didn't get anything done this week on my list. I've been working on the A to Z Quilt and my Salt and Sand Quilt. So I guess I'll try the same list for next week and see what happens.
1. Sandwich Teapot Quilt.
2. Cut Binding for Teapot Quilt.
3. Finish the Tile Quilt.
4. Work more on the Table Runner.
5. Put a few more rows on my Afghan.

It's raining today....so this is the perfect time to get some embroidery done. I've got 2 embroidery projects going. A Table Runner...this is the center of the runner. It will have a border of flowers around the outside edge.
I've also been working on a Band Sampler...It's for an embroidery challenge I'm doing. It's over at Needle and Thread with Mary Corbet. I'm not the best at embroidery, but I figure doing this Band Sampler will the perfect thing to improve my embroidery.
And I have some embroidery to do on my Salt and Sand Quilt.
See the row with the black and gray shapes...those represent Mussels. I need to embroider some lines on them. I also need to put some embroidered eyes on the fish...I think I'll give them Bullion Knot eyes. So what are you stitching today. I'm linking to:
Hope you all have a great stitching day.

I've had company all week. My niece, Zoey, has been visiting. She's learning how to crochet. And doing a really good job of it.
And her sister, Heather, popped in yesterday.
As for the A to Z Blogging Challenge. I have a partial block done. Zoey sidetracked me yesterday, so didn't get the block finished. I need to finish the right side and put his face on.

A little info on the Eggplant....from Wikipedia
Most commonly purple, the spongy, absorbent fruit is used in several cuisines. Typically used as a vegetable in cooking, it is a berry by botanical definition. As a member of the genus Solanum, it is related to the tomato, chili pepper, and potato, although they are new world and the eggplant, like nightshade, is old world. Like the tomato, its skin and seeds can be eaten, but, like the potato, it is usually eaten cooked. Eggplant is nutritionally low in macronutrient and micronutrient content, but the capability of the fruit to absorb oils and flavors into its flesh through cooking expands its use in the culinary arts.
It was originally domesticated from the wild nightshade species thorn or bitter apple, S. incanum, probably with two independent domestications: one in South Asia, and one in East Asia. In 2018, China and India combined accounted for 87% of the world production of eggplants.
I've always thought the eggplant was a vegetable...I was surprised to learn it is a fruit by botanical definition. My mom made Fried Eggplant and it was delicious...I still like it today.
Fried Eggplant
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 large eggplant, peeled and sliced
3 eggs, beaten
Flour - after dipping eggplant in egg, coat with flour.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Dip eggplant slices in egg, then in flour, and place in hot oil. Fry 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

Today's A to Z letter is C.....in this case....CAT. This is my Cat block.

All the blocks I'm making for A to Z are 10 1/2" Bleached Muslin.
Before I forget again...Apple for A was done on April 1, but forgot to post it.
For RSC 2021 this month...the color is light blue. I switched to Dark Blue as my supply of light blue scraps is getting low. I'm making these little baskets for. It's all pined and ready to applique down.

These are Eastern Bluebirds...the female is on the left and the male is on the right. You can read all about Bluebirds at Wikipedia HERE.

A to Z Blogging (2021)
This is a great Thursday. Because the Frogs are DONE.....one more off the UFO list.
I've also started working on my Salt and Sand Quilt. Put some fish on the border last night. Can't show you a picture right now, my camera battery died, I just got the picture of the Frogs before it quit. I'll save the Salt and Sand for tomorrow. But here's what I have right now.
The fish are going on the outside border. Different colored fish. I'm also going to start pulling fabric for the Born to be Wild Blog Hop....you can get all the info HERE.

It's showing signs of Spring here. Temps in the 50's and 60's. Lots of rainy day, with lots of sunny days. Which is a great combination for growing. The Tulips are up, no buds yet, and the Daffodils have bloomed and gone. My Forsythia Bush is blooming.
While I was out roaming around the yard, I saw something red in the Maple Tree...it was a Red Headed Woodpecker. He was pecking away at the tree.
As for quilts....I put the last side of binding on the Frog Quilt last night. It will be finished today...my post about this will be up tomorrow.
