I found this word in my book I'm reading....In Good Faith by Scott Pratt....since this is a book with a lawyer as the main character, I thought I would also add the legal definition.
Turpitude.....
She had a habit of committing crimes of moral Turpitude...
vile, shameful or base character's depravity....
Legal meaning...
an act or behavior that gravely violates the sentiment or accepted standard of the community

ReplyDeleteThe only cause for firing a tenured professor is "gross moral turpitude." Those in academia are very familiar with the term. Such a firing has almost never happened.
