3 WEEKS.....

 since I posted a To-do Tuesday list.  My last post was May 25th and this is my list....

1.Continue on the Salt and Sand.✔

2. Work on Daisy Embroidery👎

3. Start assembling the Crazy Quilt blocks👎

4.  Cut fabric for Red Work Quilt.✔

Well, I got 2 out of 4 done, but I've made progress on the others. 

1.  I'm still working on embroidering the lines on the mussels and clams.  The mussels are all done, now onto the clams. 

2.I'm at a stand still on the Daisy...don't know if should leave the boo boo or rip it out.  The top daisy is suppose to be a long Fan Stitch and the bottom daisy is suppose to be Fish Bone Stitch.  Well, neither one looks like they are suppose to.  But this is a learning process...so I guess I'll continue on.

3. I've got all the Crazy Quilt blocks for RSC 2021 all gathered up...there are 60 blocks...so I have to do some math to figure out how I want to assemble them.

4.  I finally found a fabric I like for the Red Work...started putting it together., but I don't like it. I'm not sure I like the little basket on the alternate block either.  I want to put these blocks on point, but have no idea how to do this...I've never done a quilt on point before..so I'll have to google this and see if there is a good tutorial for this.

This week's list.

1.  Find a tutorial for placing Red Work blocks on point.

2.   Continue working on the Daisy.

3.  Start sewing the Crazy Quilt blocks together.

4. Continue working on Salt and Sand.

FINALLY.....

 found the fabric I like for my Red Work Baskets...I laid it out on my design floor to see how it looks...but I'm not liking this at all????

I thought I'd add a basket to the alternate blocks....but...isn't there always a BUT!  Not sure I like that either...this quilt is giving me a Headache trying out how to get it together.  HELP!!!  Any and all suggestions are welcomed.

TILES AND DAISIES.......

 The binding has started on the Tile Quilt.  I still enjoy doing this by hand...I know it would go a lot faster if I used my sewing machine.  This is my OMG for June.

I'm at a stand still on my Daisy embroidery.  Which you can find over at Needle n' Thread. I'm going to have to get Mister Seam Ripper out.  I messed up 2 of the daisies.  The first daisy was easy...the 2nd and 3rd daisy is the ones I messed up.  

The daisy, upper right is suppose to be long Fan Stitches...but mine are misshaped.   The second daisy, lower right is supposed to be Feather Stitch.....well, I don't know if you can see it very well, this is definitely  not a Feather Stitch.  So I'll be ripping these 2 out and re-doing them.  This is a series of small projects over at Needle N' Thread...Head over and check them out.  This is also my HSAL(Hand Stitch Along) I'm working on.  You can visit everyone and check out what they are working on.

thought I'd drop in and say HI!  Hope you all....

 

HOOPED AND TIED......

 I got the Tile Quilt tied...I'll start the binding tonight....while watching Chicago Fire on Peacock.   

I put the Improv Quilt in the hoop, it's ready to be tied. The meaning of a Improv Quilt found at Goggle.  You can see more Improv Quilt HERE.

"An Improvisational Quilt is a quilt made without specific intention. A style of the Modern Quilter, most Improvisational or Improv quilts just begin, not with a concept necessarily, but grows out of improv piecing and develops as the quilter stitches it." 

Worked a little on the Castle for my Fairy Tale Quilt.  Not sure about this combination of colors...the light pink isn't showing up very well.  May make a new block and make the castle blue...I'll be pondering on this one.

My Roses are in full bloom right now...they are so pretty against the white and red of the front porch.  Had to dust them for bugs...they like the leaves.  Last year they almost ate every leaf off the bush .  Didn't catch them in time to stop them.

IT'S A TA-DA DAY...........

 Well, it's done....the Teapot Quilt.

Not a very good picture...but this is my only way of hanging my quilts.  But I really think this one turned out really good....I like it!

Next....is the Tile Quilt...it's in the hoop waiting to be tied...this is my PHD 2021 and my WOOFA  and OMG projects for June

I'll also be getting the Indiana Leaves quilt ready for sandwiching this month.  All the blocks need to be sewed together...then sandwiched.

ALMOST THERE.....

Today is the last day of May...my OPAM project for May is the Teapot Quilt.  It is almost done...it will be finished today...so I'll make my deadline.  This quilt is also my WOOFA project.   

I've also added some yellow to the Red Work quilt....I'm not really happy with this color as an alternate block....Mr. Seam Ripper is coming out of the drawer today!  Back to the drawing board...have any ideas as to what color to use for alternate blocks....while making my RSC basket block, I got the idea to put baskets between the red work blocks.  Now to figure out what color to make the blocks.

I've got my Purple RSC basket block done.  

Well, I guess that's it for today...hope you all have an AWESOME...

SCRAPPY DAY....

 I've been working on my Red Work blocks...I have 8 61/2" squares...I was puzzled as what to do with them....8 blocks don't make a very big quilt.  So I put different colored borders around each block.  Now what to do with them is the next question.  I know I want to add a colored block between them...haven't decided what color to use...any suggestions....maybe a light yellow or orange....ummm...I'll have to lay it out and see what happens....

The new color for RSC is out...it's going to be
Purple...I'll have to drag out my Purple and make a basket.

LAST FRIDAY OF MAY.....

 I can't believe it's the last Friday of May already...where did the month go?  Isn't it funny how one month goes by really fast and some seem to drag on.

For today I'm posting on what I've got done and a couple updates.  I got my National Day Calendar block done for May...the second week of May is Reading is Fun.  So I've got a book worm sitting on...a pile of books.  Isn't he cute.

I got all the Red Work Baskets framed...I put different colors around each one.  Now what to do with them next??  There are 8 blocks...so this will be a little quilt.  I know I'm going to put a filler block between each one.  I've got an idea what I want to do with this....but it's still jumping around in my mind.

TUESDAY ALREADY.....

 Boy, this week went fast.  It's Tuesday already....well, you know what that means..it's To-Do Tuesday.  Hosted over at Chris Knits.  Head over and check it out.  There's lots of folks joining in, you might find your next quilt plans there!  

My list from last week.

1. Finish the Clams✔

2. Make more string blocks.✔

3. Cut the Gingham fabric.👎

4. Dig out UFO's and see which quilt needs worked on next.✔

1. The Clams are all sewed down.  Now I'm embroidering the lines on the Clams and Mussels.

2. I've been making String blocks..I've got about 10 of them done.

3. I haven't cut the Ginghan fabric yet.  Not sure what I'm going to use this for.

4.  I'll start putting the Crazy Quilt I did for RSC last year together.  I have 5 for each month...which is 60 blocks...this should make a nice sized lap quilt.  They are 8 1/2" blocks.  So maybe 5 across will work...I'll have to figure that one out.  Ugh.....MATH problem!!

Next Weeks list...

1.Continue on the Salt and Sand.

2. Work on Daisy Embroidery

3. Start assembling the Crazy Quilt blocks

EMBROIDERY AND QUILTING......

 I'm working on an embroidery project, Mary Corbet over at Needle ' N Thread has a series on how to embroider Daisies.  I'm just starting the 2nd step and I've run into a rough spot.  One of the daisies is using the Woven Picot stitch.  I've never done this stitch before...so I guess I better practice before I stitch.  Here's where I'm at now. The Teapot Quilt is all tied, now on to the binding.

And the Tile Quilt is in my hoop, ready to be tied.

I've also made a few more String blocks...

15 Minutes to Stitch

BORN TO BE WILD....

 is a Blog Hop.  And I totally forgot to post yesterday...so here is my Born to be Wild project.  When I go shopping for fabric, I tend to be drawn to wild color combos.  So I'm using them in this project...with a few animal prints I have. 

I'm making a string quilt for my bed, which is a twin size.  The blocks are 6 1/2".  I have about 10 or 12 of them done.  So I've got a lot more to make.  Here's few I've got done.
