BLOG HOPPING......

I was blog hopping and ran across this place, Diary of a Stay at Home Mom.  She has a meme called...

Happy Homemaker Monday.  So I thought I would give it try.  As for me, I went outside before it got hot, and puttered around the yard..  Picked up some trash and cleaned out one of my flower beds, which doesn't really have flowers. But it has this weed growing in it, not sure what it is.  Any suggestions????

The weather here is...

cool at the moment, but it is suppose to get in the 90's today.

FINALLY A COOL OFF.....

came...it only lasted a couple days.  It's back to hot again.  So I took advantage of the cool down and did some crocheting.  I am doing the Crochet Along over at Jolly Jabber.  They have one for yarn, quilting and Cross Stitch, interested, just click on the link above and see...you might join in too.   I've got quite a few Granny Squares stacked up.

These are going to ripped out and used in the bunch of granny squares I'm making.

I also got  my Blue Birdhouse made for RSC 2022 Color Challenge.  It reminded me of the big Blue Spruce tree in our front yard.  There are always birds sitting on the limbs.

I laid out Zoe's Flags today.  This is going to be a lap quilt...for Zoe to use at her practice meets.  Her legs get cold!

What I'll be working on today is the SHARR...it's almost a filmsy.  This quilt top is made with all scraps..so I think it qualifies for Oh! Scraps.  Just needs a little more embroidery and a border.

Hope you all have an awesome.....

HOT, HOT, AND MORE HOT........

We've been under a Heat Advisory and a Heat warning for the last 4 days.

The temps have been in the high 90's, with the "feels like" being in the 3 digit range.  This is our current map.

 We are currently under a.......

...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Heat index values of 95 to 100 are expected this
  afternoon and evening.

* WHERE...Portions of northern Indiana and northwest Ohio.

* WHEN...Until midnight EDT Thursday night.

I live in that red area.  Today we are under a Heat Advisory.  So we are staying inside with the air conditioner running full blast!

I'm not working on a full quilt, just working on blocks...that way I don't have too much fabric laying on my body.  I did do some more work on my SAHRR last night.  I can "see the light at the end of tunnel" on this quilt.  I have a couple more garden signs to embroider, and add the border, and this one will be another filmsy to add to my bulging box.

This is quilt has so much color, I've decided it needs a neutral color as a border. These are what I've picked out for the border.

Plus the Crazy Quilt is still in the hoop.  I put a few more stitches in last night.  This quilt is extra heavy, there are 5 layers of fabric plus all the embellishments on it.  The blocks are made on a muslin backing and each block measures at 12 1/2".   I'm really enjoying tying this quilt.  This is the first Crazy quilt I ever made. I'm working on an  8 1/2" one now.

I'm still reading The Janus Stone by Elly Griffiths.  Really good series.  I'm on book  2 of 14.

My personal reading challenge is to read the whole series of Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kenny.

I've finished books 1 and 2.  Don't let the fact that these are "kids" books scare you off reading them.  They are really funny  and serious.  All about growing up and Middle School adventures.  You can read my post about these books at my book blog, Just Books.

While I'm working on a quilt....I watch t.v.  I'm still watching Law and Order...Criminal Intent. I'm on season 7 right now.  There are 10 seasons.  I subscribe to several streaming channels...I'm watching this on Peacock.

Well, that's what's going on in my world right now.    I'm linking up with

SUNDAY STITCHING.....

I'm currently trying to get my SAHRR to filmsy stage.  I have to finish up the embroidery of the butterflies, give the farmer a face and put the names on the Garden Signs.  And I also need to decide on border color.  I'll have to think about this one for awhile.

I've also go my Blue Birdhouse for RSC 2022 all pinned down.  I'm going to change the pole to a brown, the blue doesn't work for me.  The same applies to the perch piece.

These 2 items are what I'll be working on today for my Slow Sunday Stitching.....I'll do the blue birdhouse first and then move on to the SAHRR.

If I get tired of these 2, I've always got my Tiny Tiles as a back-up.

Have an awesome stitching....

ALL PINNED AND READY........

to go.  I've got the fabric cut and pinned to the block....now just need to sew them down.  Over at Scrap Happy today it's all about Blue.  This looks like a tree, but it's a triangle birdhouse....  this is my birdhouse for my RSC 2022 Challenge.

I've also got Mustard, it's the mustard leaf.  Hope over HERE to see some interesting facts about mustard.  The color of the jar is the mustard color, which I'm using for the Color Challenge.

I also pinned my Pink Sewing Machine for my National Day Calendar Challenge.  As I sew this down, I'm going to sew a pin into it for the needle.  Well, we'll see if this works????

A few months ago I decided to make my own challenge.  To post a new picture everyday.  I've kind of kept up with, but I've also been lax in posting.  So this is my picture for my own picture challenge.  I'll leave your a snap shot of my roses.  Not sure of the name, but they are beautiful and smell so good.  I planted this rose bush about 5 years ago.  I've babied it, and now it's in full bloom!  It also looks good growing up the trellis my dad made me a few years ago!

Hope you all have a.....

6 YEARS IN THE MAKING.....

I finally got the last pink strip sewed onto the Quilty 365 quilt.  I started this quilt in 2016 when Audrey over at Quilty Folk started this circle challenge.  I decided to jump in and join the other people doing this.  These are the supplies I started with.  Bleached Muslin, some pink 1 1/2" strips and lots of different colored circles.

I sit my circles up to represent a calendar.  January through December 2016.  I got side tracked by other quilts to make and Quilty 365 got stuck in a box and forgotten.  I pulled it out a couple of weeks ago and didn't have a 2016 calendar hanging around so had to head to the internet to get one.

As I was cleaning out a box of quilt tops, I got this one out and started working on it.  I finished putting the last row on and....NO WAY,  I didn't have enough of the pink to finish it.

I thought for sure I would have to use another color to finish.  BUT, isn't there always a but!  I was rearranging some boxes and found enough to put the last strip on.

Here it is all done except for a the border on the around the outside.

I can't make up my mind what color to use for it, there is so much color in this quilt, I think it needs a neutral color around it.

But which one!  Anyone having a suggestion would be greatly appreciated. 😀

I LIKE THURSDAYS BECAUSE.....

I like making lists....I have a list for everything and anything.  Take your pick, I have a list, ha ha😀  Here is a LIST of lists I have.

1. Books - Elly Griffiths Ruth Galloway Series

2.Quilts - I have 8 Quilt tops that need sandwiched

3.Yarn - I have 2 afghans going

4.Embroidery Stitches - learning new stitches at Pintangle

5.Afghans - a new one is being worked on

6. New plants for the flower beds.  lots to choose from my Free Burpee catalog.

7. Embroidery items I'm stitching - the list is endless

8. Household chores for the day - another endless list

9. Adding new numbers to my phone book - I seem to collect these, so I need some where to put them!

10. Making a monthly calendar - I use this to keep track of my quilts

11. Start an Index Card-a-Day Challenge, which you can find all the info HERE. - doing doodles, art, quilts, you name it, it can be put on an index card.

12. Sorting buttons into color groups - I got my mom's buttons when she passed, so have slowly been sorting them into color groups.

13. Making lists..ha - as you see from my list...ha ha😀

My lists are sometimes short and sometimes long.  For example...Yarn, I browse through yarns looking for a color I need.  And the list begins with yarn names, yarn number, color, how many ounces, what I want to use it for, the list tends to grow as I think of things to do with this yarn.

I've been working on my SAHRR quilt.  I finally got the farmer sewed down and am now working on the garden sign posts.

When I'm not quilting, crocheting or embroidering, I read...at the moment I've got 2 seires going.  Elly Giffiths Ruth Galloway series and Jeff Kinney's Diary of a Whimpy Kid. We just bought the whole series for my granddaughter, and I decided to read them too.

Well that's it for today.  Have a great...

I have 2 more of the Hand Picked Blocks done and several Pink Baskets

I started my Granny Squares for the Crochet Along.  I've got a stack of them. I'm using some I made a few weeks ago, so they are going into the box.

PROGRESS ON SEVERAL PROJECTS......

I've made progress on several projects I'm working on.  First up is the Quilty 365...I was digging around in a box yesterday and found some more of the pink I'm using for the strips and no they weren't in my Pink Scrap Box...how did that happen.!  Just have to finish up the embroidery.

My Antique Roses are blooming.  I've lived her for 40 years and they were already here and blooming.

I started my Crochet Along last night.  You have to see how many you can make for the summer.

I have 3 monthly challenges I'm working on.  Color Challenge, RSC 2022, and National Day.  I got the paper patterns cut and pinned to there muslin blocks.  Just have to pick out the fabric and start cutting.

I almost forgot to post my OMG goal for June.   I have about  6 or 7 filmsy that need to be sandwiched.  That is my goal this month...to sandwich 3 of them.

Hope you all have a wonderful Sewing....
